rez means to appear. When you arrive in a new location it takes time for people and things to rez(appear). As for "rez me"... never heard that before.

If an object says "Rez me" it means "drag me to the ground"

If you're not referring to SL, where we only 'rez' objects, then the term 'rez me' comes from several MMORPG, basically meaning 'resurrect me'. (Dead players being brought back to life by party members).

The meaning/origin of the SL usage of the term (from Kathy Yamamoto's glossary):

rez - (v) - [origin: the movie Tron. Derived from "de-rez" - a fictional hacker term for an
object losing resolution, or dissolving away.] - to create an object or to bring an object out of your inventory. To make something appear in the world.

Maybe the new whippersnapper's are using this as slang for "send me a teleport?"

Would be clever, but I think in this case it refers to an object, I have seen objects (some of the ones in the Library even, I think) that have "Rez Me" on them.

Rez was also used in Snow Crash, but the origins most likely do come from Tron.
Rez is also the name of a Playstation game that comes with a "personal massager".

There is also a Glossary of SL terms on the Support Wiki:

May be of use to new people. :)

I think the origin of "rez" pre-dates tron by almost 2000 years ;)
