Hi, not sure I'm asking in correct place, so accept apologies ahead of time. I already looked in wiki and did not see anything. How does one go about making the granite on a mountain have grass besides using the edit in create? I don't like their grass (no offense) and dont want a yard thats granite.

I believe the only way is to put in a false floor and texture it. I could be wrong, but that's the way I had to do it. _____________________
the truth is overrated ![]() The most successful software company in the world does a piss-poor job on all these points. Particularly the first three. Why do you expect Linden Labs to do any better? ![]() |

Yeah, look in the Library folder for textures matching the natural terrain ones -- only way to replace terrain textures is to have a private sim island, where you will have control over the environment that way. Also, sometimes, rezzing decorative plants and greenery -- either prim like the Linden grass+trees or particle-based like Jimmy Thomson's Field of Dreams, can go a long way towards making things look more gentle.

Tried field of dreams, its lovely but lag took over and it looked like we were in a bad fog area. Was listening for fog horns. Thank you for the advice and will be looking at other site you posted. Thank you about the false floor advise too, not 100% sure what you mean though, I'm sorry.
Um, when you said use the library, and private sims, does that mean that cannot change the texture on land bought inside a sim? Like I'm on top of a mountain right now in Bragg. |

I believe what April means by "false floor" is that you rez prims in the shape of big squares, to cover up the mountain with a different texture of your choice.
