LINDEN ANNOUCEMENT: The texture picker has been changed to no longer display (no copy) textures when "Apply Immediately" is selected.
Even when I UNCHECK the "Apply Immediately" box...I cannot wear the textures in my inventory that are (no copy)!
PLEASE FIX THIS BUG ASAP! I want to wear my headbands, custom made by Soren Romulus and his shop is gone. I can't reach him. They are irreplaceable!

This particular problem WILL be fixed (per Don Linden) as of 1.6.1 - no word that I have seen as to when 1.6.1 will be released, but I am sure it will be fixed ASAP. These textures WILL be back for use in skins/clothes ONLY according to what Don said. See it straight from the man himself here.

I had found an exploit where non-permissions textures could be made into clothing and transfered with all permissions. I reported this bug about 2 weeks ago.
To my knowledge, it was a bug prior to 1.6. My logical guess is that this patch will fix this, but in the meantime LL doesn't want to be responsible for content theft.
I could, however, be completely wrong.

what I don't understand is why I no longer get ANY no transfer textures in the picker no matter WHAT I want to do with them. This fucking sucks, frankly.
I create an object FOR MYSELF, and want to texture it with one of the MANY no transfer textures I've bought - but I can't from the picker. And I can't drag from inventory to the whole selected object, but I CAN drag to an individual side of an object.
Great. So you just made it 6 fucking times harder for me to texture stuff. What was this supposed to achieve, exactly? Apart from to render about 2000 of my textures useless.
Oh. And crash me 100% of the time if I choose to edit any existing object of mine with no transfer textures. Which is pretty much all of them.
In conclusion, I cannot build or texture in 1.6. If this no transfer textures thing is intended behaviour, what the hell is the point of it? Why have I spent a ton of money buying textures I can no longer use at all?
Surely if the texture is no transfer then I should be able to use it but not sell the item? Like, say, it did in 1.5?

Well this explains why there are a lot of problems with my shoji panels. I was wondering why they did not show up in my inv. any more. Ihope this gets fixed, or it will be a night mare for people who have made textures that hjave been sold already.

What I'm havin a hard time accepting is that they are going to change this for skin use ONLY in the next patch.

(from hotline) For restricted permissions most clothing and body parts, including eyes, should be sold as the body part, not as a texture to be put on the body part. The texture can not be pulled off of a body part or clothing item even if the item is fully modifiable.
Skin is an exception because there are three textures and the need to mix and match skin textures such as tattoos. Right now this doesn't work, however when 1.6.1 is released then skins will allow no modify and no copy textures. __________________ - Kelly Linden
What I am finding incredibly unfair about this is that this helps out the custom skin makers that use the tattoo texture layer for their skins and makeups. BUT it leaves me, a paltry tattoo maker, having to completely rework the delivery of my product.
I venture to say that due to the most popular use of the tattoo layer being for custom skin use, 80 - 90% of my customers apply my copy/mod, no transfer textures to garments for layering over their custom skins.
There may be a bug that crops up, as Hiro mentioned. Frankly, dealing with the possibility of bug abuse is a whole lot more palatable to me, than having to make every possible garment layer for all of my tats! I have priced my product with my customer's need to do this themselves, in mind.
For instance, I have a box that contains an assortment 8 little thigh roses for $100L. Now to make this usable I need to include in the box with them.. 8 underwear, 8 pants & possibly 8 socks (if the sock pattern rides that high on the thigh).
