The forms colleges send parents of dependent students for filing with tax forms - they get you more refund or reduces your tax liability - what are those forms called?

After wading through the IRS' website, it appears to me as though you need Publication 929 which has a lot of information about filing with dependents. It appears that it has the necessary worksheets to help parents and dependent children properly file their taxes.

If in doubt, though, it would be best to call your school's financial aid office and ask them directly. It's been a number of years since I filed as a dependent child in college, and my kids are way too small for me to have to worry about it yet, so I'm taking an educated guess here and I'm not entirely sure this is what you need.
