Were the recent limitations meant to restrict events to paying customers?

For examples, here's the new Tier structure:

Basic $9.99 gets you

512 m2 / 116 prims / 3 events per day

Add 5$ and you get another

512 m2 / 116 prims / 3 events per day

Or Add 8$ and you get another

1024 m2 / 232 prims / 6 events per day.

..
..
..

etc

Other. The Lindens setting this up have stated elsewhere that they are not trying to restrict the event postings to Premium accounts, and are beginning to make good on that offer. There are posts around mentioning that the re-parceling loophole will be fixed as well.

Now, that being said, I'm wondering what will happen next. I'm just sitting here, waiting for the moment, since just about everything has happend so far this month. And that's downright fustrating.

I voted other because this has sparked a thought in my brain. I do not think they mean to limit event posting to paying customers per the statement that they are releasing several Linden-owned "public" venues for event hosting. Any av is supposed to be able to tie an event to those locations.

What they may be working toward, if they're farsighted enough, is the implementation of free browser accounts. Something that e.g. allows students to attend classes and tutorial sessions in restricted, school-sponsored estate sims without having to purchase an account from Linden Lab.

It'll be a step closer to being the host of the baby metaversal w3b.

Interesting... last I checked, my basic 512m2 received a 117 prim limit, and the $8 upgrade resulted in 1024m2 with 234 max prims.

Wow, there is so much stuff wrong with this I don't know where to start. First off events are 3 per person or group so if you want more then you need to create more alts. Secondly, the higher tiers are added to the 512 basic. So if you pay for membership plus $5 for teir that is 1024m of land. And you are still only allowed 3 events. If you own 3 sims, you still get 3 events. So I have no idea what you are talking about.
