beweare email from a guy from india offering poser 6, bryce, photoshop CS and lots more for $70.
he says u dont pay him till you get teh software & see it working
But you get a corrupt CD which wont load
THEN he asks for money as hes struggling to save up for 3d college and resending the CD would cost and hes skint....
Its actualy got a crack code generator on the CD when I got it...i didntknwo what to expect but greed or at least a good deal got the better of me...he even sent me some free textures ona CD so make himself look decent
he got no money...insisted i paid by western union who later advised me NOT to pay him through them but PayPal...he wont use paypal ( i wonder why??)
Its a scam through & through but a VERY convincing one!
ack!
suppose i deserve it..just want to warn others who may be tempted too

Well *never* respond to spam emails. They are all dodgy. When looking at how much they are charging compare this to the normal shop price.

Yeah, certainly sounds convincing.. a guy, in India no less, selling hundreds of dollars worth of software for just $70. I'd have never guessed. Well I'd wager at least you got some working stuff. Keypress recorders would be my first guess.

Keypress recorders are programs that record what you type and then send that log out to a third party, in this case probably the guy you bought the software from. They are often very hard to find installed on your computer unless you know exactly what you're looking for.
If you installed anything off that CD you will probably want to think about taking it in and having it professionally cleaned, or even reformat the hard drive.

From: LillyBeth Filth yeah but if he says 'no need to pay before you have checked it and seen it working' you kinda think ' well ive nothing to loose? Dignity. You (almost) just payed for illegal software. From: LillyBeth Filth whats a key recorder? why would that come with poser? It's a program that is inserted covertly into more harmless install programs, and monitors all keyboard strokes. IE, logins, passwords, etc. Then it sends that data somewhere else, without your knowledge. From: LillyBeth Filth I believe theres a website i can pay $10 a month and download it? or download upto so much meg of software a month...dunno need to look into it. That would also be illegal. Please do not download illegal software - and if your going to download illegal software, certainly don't PAY for illegal software. That's just... whole new levels of wrong. You aren't going to get something for nothing, or next to nothing, legally. Particularly not when "something" costs hundreds to thousands of dollars. If it sounds to good to be true, on the internet, it probably is. And it probably comes bugged/virus infected/etc, just to add to the fun.

I get those same emails and ignore them.
I also get emails about twice a week from the India Embassy or something that says a long lost relative of mine who lived overseas has died and he was a gazillionaire and I am the only living relative they can find...they then want my bank acct info to "deposit" said funds. Ya ok, dunno who would fall for that one.
Remember, if sounds too good to be true...it's probably a scam
