When I first came into the game and bought my first land it was a Mature plot. Eventually I bought some land next door, grew out of that and i've moved my "home" three times now. My current home is PG, and when I bought it I wasn't sure that was such a good idea.

But I'm quite happy with my PG home! I have no interest in sex animations or XXX artwork, or even foul language. The reason I got this plot in the first place was that PG is cheaper. My "house" is currently a four prim tent on a desolate island, but I use my home for scripting and building gadjets and gizmos. So at the moment I don't need a house, but I do like having lots of prims for experimenting. Too much grief, clutter and lag in the sandboxes.

So why do so many people insist on Mature land? Sound off.

1. Cause it's worth more
2. Cause I don't have to play language cop with my guests
3. Cause I can have works of art on my walls even if they involve some nudity
4. Cause I don't have to worry about my guests or me getting turned in if we accidentally end up somewhat nude

I have and have had both. I've never felt restricted on my pg land. Conversations don't travel as far as anyone elses properties. The attitude that has always been presented to me was that what you do behind the privacy of closed doors is pretty much your business (as relative as privacy can be considered to be a reality anywhere in SL). The mature land I own was chosen for it's appearance and location, I would have been happy to pay less for it if it had been pg. Mature land having more value also means you pay more for it.

I currently live on M land, but I have spent nearly two years very happy and content living in primarily PG sims. I never felt restricted in how I behaved and had a wonderful time of things. If the use of sex animations is not on your priority list, PG definately has its advantages.

It used to be that PG land was plentiful, but demand has swayed the balance so that PG is actually less available than M land now. I always wondered if rarity of PG would drive up its cost.

Happy speculating :)

I've owned land in PG and M sims and finally settled into PG as a preference. It never had anything to do with language or content though. Every mature sim I tried became an utter lag fest after the first few weeks of habitation. Sentimental checkups confirm that they've not improved over time.

For my money, people are welcome to prefer mature land as a rule for whatever reasons they can imagine. It leaves those of us that are comfortable in a PG environment with more fps to enjoy.

If it wasn't a monumental PIA, I'd move the Shelter to PG land. Being on Mature just seemed to confuse things anyway.

Everything we do is G rated - I think it would actually be less hassle for me to tell folks to keep it clean if we were in PG.

Maybe someday. But we're pretty happy where we are :)

I've always preferred being at home in PG land as opposed to M. I don't do anything prurient in SL and I don't make a habit of shouting obscenities. PG is fantastic: cheap, free of neighboring sex balls, mostly free of clubs. It's vastly undervalued by so many.

I'm also happy with my PG land. I don't think I do anything that would get me in trouble there anyway, and my neighbours are nice. Maybe eventually I'll get Mature just so I can sell my skintones on it (they have naughty bits), but for now I'm happy in PG First Land.

I use my land to work on clothes. I'll often end up naked so need to be in quiet mature land.

Yeah, I've always owned PG land to try to avoid clubs and spinning signs. I'm just geeking out in SL, the restrictions on PG land have never affected me. I don't use profanity much around people I don't know, so that hasn't been an issue. But everywhere I've had PG land, I've also had neighbors with a lot of sexxor pose balls, and it's never been an issue that I know of.

What we really need is privacy, not ratings.
