"Um, I can't I'm busy"
"Watcha up to?"
"Er, I promised to teach a class"
"what? where?"
"Um, in a game"
"a class?"
"yes"
"in a game?"
"yes"
"you can't save the game and do it later?"
"no, it's a live game, with real people"
"what's the class on"
"um, something in the game"
"ok, so no coffee then because you have to teach a class in a game about the game you're teaching the class in, with real people tonight"

It's easy for me...lol...as I don't call it a game. I talk about SL for what it really is - a virtual community filled with real people in real time. A game is something you just play - SL is, well, a whole "second life."

geez misnomer... and i thought my parents were computer illiterate. they at least understand that there is a real person on the other end of the game

perhaps it is because of my frequent lanning, and i had to draw pictures to show them how we connected computers to each other and played against each other in the same room. they ARE at least intelligent enough to expand this concept to the internet. hey, maybe pictures will help those who don't understand...

Well Phil, even funnier is that it's not my parents who Im discussing it with AND they are computer literate. They just arent up on the concept of MMOGs I guess.

Quite amusing Wednesday! Fortunately I can say that if anything, my fiance not only understands my 'justaminutehoney's, but is getting rather interested himself.

I might even get him to apply for beta testing too, joy!

I trained my family for 2 years on EQ with wonderful conversations like this...

"Were leaving now"

"IF I LEAVE NOW EVERYONE WILL DIE!"
"ummmm ok........" as she signs me up for some therapy sessions.

And lucky for me my fiance was more addicted to EQ than I was, so she more than understands.
