Maybe it's the heat but I cant think of an answer to this one even though I am sure it's something stupid.

Because of the thread where W-Hat got ridiculed the other day, two of these wonderful folks came to my house the next day hunting for me with a PUSH GUN.

How mature, eh? Lose an argument, solve it with a gun. Makes no sense to me but whatever.

The thing that occured to me is that I can't see how they knew where to find me.

I thought if they are not friends (they are not), they can't locate you. Additionaly, the house I am in is brand new (only half built) and my official residence is listed as Achemon any place it's listed at all. There are only two or three of my closest friends that even knew I was moving or currently living in that spot. There is nothing in my picks at all (I am a social dullard), and I have never listed my property in the "find" intentionaly anyway.

How the heck is it possible to find out where I live under those circumstances?

The only thing I can think of is that somehow my property is listed automatically?

I guess the two incidents *could* be unrelated, but the fact that the day after I say something in the forums aobut W-Hat, they turn up in my living room with a push gun is just too co-incidental for me.

I thought people could only find you by having a calling card of yours. Maybe one of them did or knew someone who did that gave them your coords?

There are ways of finding people in SL and not need a calling card. The easiest way is to first do a Find on your name in the places and people and see what information they can gleen from your picks, store locations etc. There may be a name of someone they can ask without raising suspicion posing as a friend, customer whatever. They can also conduct a forum search and see if you mentioned your home sim somewhere. This can narrow it down to the sim, then a script such as Scan-Foo can locate objects owned by you. There may be other, farther reaching scripts but I am unaware of them, certainly possible though.

I hope these folks do find you and use their script-kiddie dodads on you and do it repeatedly. That way you can abuse report them, save chat logs and be sure to mention if they were w-hat members if they actually are since LL has a burr under their saddle concerning them and include your suspicions of vendetta and stalking.

Cool.
Thanks for the info.
Since my picks are virtually blank I would suspect that I mentioned the name of the sim in the forum but just dont remember it. They were W-Hat but the members dont always carry the group name anymore, so I guess they were "undercover" (or something equally juvenile). Maybe they have to get a "coup" to join and these are just W-Hat wannabes, but they were at W-Hat headquarters with the rest of them when I flew over there.

I am not going to AR them for trying to grief me, as they kind of see that as a badge of honour. I might if they actually succeed though.

Anyway thanks to Dill Brodie and Viggo Rebus for cowardly attacking my friend who tried to defend my property, and for providing proof at last of the age and intellectual status of the average W-Hatter.

(proof attached!)

:)

=/ *hugs for Di*

yeah just coincidently two thugs broke into your house gunning for you after you critique their group.

From what i can gather about W-H-at-ever / they seem to have juvinille senses of humor even if they arent in the griefer business.

Since juvinille senses of humor tend to support griefing - and they have had many people who claim they are griefers, it does beg the suggestion that they deserve their reputation.

If members of a group gleefully grief people and that group makes no effort to curb these things then they are guilty by association of looking the other way.

It could be that juvinille minds are attracted to a group like W-H-at-ever and therefore they act juvinille --- thats a chicken and the egg story , though.
