NEW (almost) live special.. from Florida(!).. starring Tony Hawk! tonight at 10p(EST)!

I can't believe there haven't been more respones! MXC is just too funny...and I'm ssoooooo jealous you get to watch and I don't!

*checks clock* Why isn't it time to go home yet?? *sigh*

and yeah, i'm surprised too. thought i would get a flood of responses.. *shrugs*

of course, now i'm being subjected to 'Murder, She Wrote'.. i live with my father (as his caretaker), his house, his choice. at least i got to watch a few episodes.. and i'll be sure to catch the new one tonight.

of course, i'll be watching Friends when that's on.. but back to MXC right after probably.

That show is great! There's supposed to be a second (crappy) American-made season coming. But it'll suck...it's just going to be your standard obsticle course show with a slight humorous twist. Without the fake dubs and unique Japanese touch, it'll suck!

Edit: Oh, already mentioned the new one. Well I'm sure now that you've seen it you'll agree with me. Never mind that I didn't see it.

MXC rocks, I didn't know the new season was all going to be US done. That will suck.

My wife will be very dissapointed too, its her favorite show.

Ah well. The old ones are still good. I bet MXC musta done better than the japanese show they "dubed"... I can't think of any other reason they would switch to US run.

Does anyone actually think that the US version is better than the (fake) dubbed one? I'd like to know if anyone is that crazy.

Or they could just put fake audio over the US version, that might save it a little.

It's not Possible that the US made one could ever be as good! It never is when they try that. Even something as simple as "who's line is it anyway" I found tremendously funnier done by the brits. Americans try to take over, own, and capitalize on otherwise good, obscure comedy... and that process ruins everything that was good and unique about it. Their marketing peeps squeeze the very life out of it in their attempts to "distill" out the comedy. Fleeaahhh.

I watched the first show of the new season last night...and I actually kind of enjoyed it. There were some things that were pretty cheesy.... but they stuck to the same format.....random events(all the same as the old), ridiculous dubbing, and the hosts are still a part of it

Overall, it's watchable...if nothing else than for the college kids acting crazy and falling hard!! Ha! Too funny!!

I thought the Almost Live special rocked and like Princess mentioned, it did have the good ol' dubbing. In fact, they had one guy dubbed over to say "It doesn't matter what I say because they're just going to dub over it!"

It was the same ol' hosts Kenny and Vic, with their same voices and same wity humor. Tony Hawk and I forgot her name snow boarder woman were team captains and did things like Tony's pep talks to his team.

I think they formula still works, they just need new footage of people doing crazy stuff and falling into almost certain sewage.

Truely, this is the best show ever.

You know what though, I'm going to have to disagree with the American Who's Line is it Anyway. Aren't half the people they use from the British version also? I don't think the Drew Carey show touch hurt at all!

Only thing that bugged me was that (correct me if I'm wrong here) I think they tried to change the name of it at first to something else, but then just used the original British naming. Drew Carey is a better host though.

it was just a one-off special they did, i guess. cashing in on the popularity.. maybe Tony Hawk just thought it would be cool and said, "hey, i'd like to do an episode!". and well, he's Tony Hawk! so, of course he got to do it.

Yes! But I still proclaim the American episode suckier, even though I didn't see it.

The only thing that I didn't like in the Almost Live Special was that it was too clean... that is, people fell into chlorinated water, people had to wear mouth gaurds, etc.... It was almost as if they actually cared for the well being of the contestants... pshaw.

Other than that, the Almost Live episode was an hour long MXC and it was great.

Ahh. See...that's unacceptable.
