Come on, guys, this is a misunderstanding. Can't we all just get along?

(At the risk of incurring wrath, I'm going to let Catherine's post stand as 5. Claim of Victimization, just out of historical precedent. :))

Look, can't we all just get along? This isn't THAT big of a deal, ya know. Besides, in three days, it'll all be forgotten.

I knew this couldn't really be how an argument evolves. I therefore wisely stayed out of it until the truth of the matter was obvious. :)

It's not funny at all! Funny things involve hippos. This is a long standing tradition of SL forums. No hippos...no funny! Furthermore, no animal of any kind were used within this thread. So again. Not funny. Also please note the lack of "lol" or "hahaha" in the first posters remarks. A sure indicator of unfunniness, also known as seriousness. All these factors taken together can lead to no other conclusion but that this thread is not even funny!

[edited to add further salient points supporting the undisputable unfunniness of this thread]

Now I feel bad for contributing to the hijacking of this otherwise thoughtful topic. Humankind's understanding of internet forum social dynamics could have been furthered leading to...

[stops writing as he reads the above posts]

Hippos are pretty funny. Beavers get to hear better jokes though.

Thoughful topic? Yikes.

Thanks for playing along, guys. I wasn't expecting it when I first posted so at first Remo threw me but once it got through I had a good laugh. :)

Final Results:
1. Convoluted Statement - Me (Julian Fate)
2. Mild Disagreement - Remo Yossarian
3. Complicated Defense - Me, sort of
4. Accusation of Personal Attack - Lit Noir
5. Claim of Victimization - Catherine Cotton (honorary for past achievements)
6. Half-hearted Placation - Me
7. Appeal to Reason - Moleculor Satyr
8. Crossposting - Bel Muse
9. Abandonment of Original Objection - Jauani Wu
10. Claim of Rational Victory - Me (I think)
11. Claim of Moral Victory - Ananda Sandgrain (I think)

Things fell apart a little at the end but it was fun. Thanks for playing along and we now return to our regularly scheduled hippos.

awww..I thought we had started again...which would make this post the appeal to reason. The premise being that we so proved your point that its not even funny. And surely you can see another round proves it that much more...and no its not funny!

:D

I don't know, Bel, I'm confused now. Feel free to continue or apply this model to other threads. I'm just trying to escape working right now. :)
