I am going to be off of SL for a little bit because I am like a junky needing my fix right now. I got the game last night and I love it. I only got 2 hr of sleep last night. I leave work here in about 1 hr. Till about 30 mins ago I was falling asleep. Then I seen the time and thought Jade Empire. Now I am awake and ready to RPG!

The look of it is cool. Chinese as opposed to the copious amounts of ancient Japanese games on the market.

I didn't notice anything particularly innovative about the game's play, though at E3 I saw one of the publicity guys trying his damndest to convince a young reporter that it is full of groundbreaking innovations (the young reporter was having none of it).

"You can fight the monster or a smarter player can make a stalactite fall and crush it!" Whoopdie do.

But yeah... the art direction is good.

I would say it is ground braking. I would also say the guy at E3 was a dumb ass that didn’t even know his own game. What I see as ground braking.

Good/Bad
In games like SWKotOR you had a good and bad, ok Dark side Light side. In Fable you had good and evil. So the basic idea is not new. In Jade Empire you don’t have good and Evil you have Open Plum and Closed Fist. Both are good both are bad. All on how you look at it. Also in the other two games you had a Good thing or a BAD thing you could do. In JE you have allot of gray.

Deep
Not many games get in to some deep stuff. This game has brang some of the deep ideas of the Chinese cutler. It makes you think not only in the game but out side it.


Now you said the art was really good? Well try flying your Air ship. It reminds me of the 80’s top down shooting flight games. It’s really bad.

There is only one game I think that looks like it can go against JE. Elder Scroll 4. I think 3 could but the old tech kind of hurts it.

If you can go take a look at it. You may just want to get it. If I didn’t have a Xbox I may have just went out and got one for this game.

I'm a bit of a bioware fangirl myself... and I love rpgs more than is healthy I think. I didn't know this was an rpg, though admittedly I haven't looked too much into it.

I've been looking at the website, but something isn't totally clear to me yet. In character creation, are you able to customize what your character looks like and skills they have? That's an important thing for me in an rpg... though I love them too much for it to be the #1 factor in my desision to buy...

What is combat like? Is it turn based or real time? Or is it really a third person action game with rpg elements like fable? (Even though that game sucked.)

[edit] Nevermind, I found the part that talks about combat. Looks good.

I picked the longest shipping time though so I can finish Shadow Hearts 2 before it gets here lol.

You can not change up the look or the skills really. Well a few states. But you only have 3 stats so not allot of custom. They have some were about 3 types of charters and each has a Male and a female.

It’s more a third person action game. Fable would be close. I liked fable with a little SuSucki (Man that game sucked). If you liked KotOR you may just like this. It is a story line not a free flow like Elder Scroll.

I don't own an xbox. But I do own Gamecube games I've never played because I stopped playing console games 4 months ago. I<3 Nintendo, though.

You WHORE! Oh wait I meet my wife at a Table top RPG. I like RPG Whores or is that just Whores? You should like it. I think most people with a brain will just for the epicness (is that a word? LOL) of the story. Happy to turn you on...........To a new game.

I own all three, plus a SNES that I keep around to play Super Metroid and Final Fantasy 3 on. I used to only have a GC in addition, but I got a PS2 for all the... mmm... rpgs available.
