Hello everybody, just today I received a message about my acceptance to get a Second Life! (I had applied quite some time ago.) Unfortunatly, I can't start my new life right now, but I am looking forward to doing it tomorrow (if I can get on). Anything I should know before I get started?
Thanks,

Hey, welcome to SL! My advice is to not go too quickly. Don't buy up land and try to become rich and famous very quickly. Lay low, practice building stuff, and have fun.

Take your time on Prelude Island

Welcome to SL,
I suggest you spend a day or 2 in Prelude Island.
Go thur each station once or twice and really get accustom to your AV. Some stations pay L$.
Customize your AV try on clothes in your inventory. Learn and Explore the tools. Talk to newbies and ask Linden staff as many questions as you can. Pull out stuff in your inventory and see what's there.
Then when you're ready to move on to the mainland explore different regions, build your skills by taking classes (check out the Event Board in the Ritch Welcome Area).
