Forum Poster A creates a new thread about how someone was right in another thread instead of contributing to the original thread.

Forum Poster C creates a parody thread to show how silly it is to abuse the forums in this manner. The original title was "[Forum Poster A] is wrong about [Orignal Forum Poster] being right about this community"]

To further illustrate the absurd nature of abusing the forums in this manner, Forum Poster B (an alt of forum poster C) creates another parody thread. This implies the recursive nature of this particular type of forum abuse. The original title was "[Forum Poster C] is wrong about [Forum Poster A] being wrong about [Orignal Forum Poster] being right about this community"]

And what do we learn?

The abuse report button wins!

Unless speaking about the forums is off-topic then you are wrong.

Unless I actually reposted something then you are wrong.

You are one wrong egg! :D

I am never wrong :)
But sometimes, I am insufficiently convincing about my correctness :)

I vaguely recall someone babbling about parody being perfectly acceptable and to lighten up. I tried to find it the thread, but there is just way too much crap around here.

Does this mean we now have to put up with all the unfunny people who get their definitions of irony from Alanis Morissette lyrics calling their trolls and flames "parody" and feeling smug because no one, including the mods, "gets it"?

Actually, we have to put up with that now.

Reported simply because I hate Morissette and seeing her name makes me ill. :p :o

I see the dessicated husk of a once-thriving forum destroyed by nannyism. It's a conflict that started with the prime nuisance and has escalated since. Personally, I'd have rather seen free discussion, even if anarchic, than strict moderation, which ensures that the pissy always have the last word.

I wouldn't worry too much, Ardith. Every weekend some unimportant non-issue explodes across the forum, involves a tiny group of people who "yes it is, no it isn't" each other, makes sure Jeska earns her pay, then disapears off the bottom of the page. Due to the accelerated perception of online time this seems like a big deal but it always ends after a couple days or less and leaves nothing behind but a mild sulphur smell.

If, after the weekly horrorshow starts, you just ignore any threads started by that week's crew until Monday, you'll never notice that anything happened.

When are you going to start following your own advice? *looks at watch*

How many parental admonition posts does it take?

There is no obvious constructive discussion going on in this thread and as such it is being closed.
