Advertisements for Sex in PG Sims

here's a question. Is it against the rules to put up ads in PG sims that are for sex services offered in M sims? The billboard is next to my land in Pickerel, has no nudity but advertises "free extreme sex playhouse" and "sexy service!" in Purden. So is placing this billboard in a PG sim against the rules?

I noticed the same thing in the PG sim next to my land. And is it the advertiser or the landowner who is held responsible? The land has been for sale for quite some time and I suspect the landowner (a "landbaron" is unaware it's being used in this way.

Seems to me that it would be quite silly to put M signs in a PG area, seeing as how if those people were interested in anything like that...they would live in a M sim...

The owner of the land is the same person offering the services. Not me, by the way. Hmm, it's not quite 'green' as per description, is it? Furthermore, if that's a 'gentle' slope, I'm the Queen of Sheba. It's not the 'hilltop' either. Can you tell these ads annoy me too?

I seem to remember that the Lindens said this was okay, as long as the ad itself didn't feature explicit content.

The definition of PG and M are subject to change minute-to-minute. No, wait! Strike that. Most LL policies are subject to random, mutally exclusive, simultaneous interpretations.

People have been seeking a bright line in lots of fields, but there aren't any to be had. The only way to know when you've crossed one is when you get notified that you've violated one.

If the original poster was asking something more along the lines of "is it reasonable for me to report this, because to my reading it violates the Community Standards", then I think the answer is safely: yes.

As an aside to the Lindens who likely won't read it: yet another case where your failure to be even vaguely consistent make more work for you.

it should be and if its not, you shouldnt do it. People go to pg sim to get away from the overflow of sexual content in this game. Use common decency.. and a lil respect for those that dont want to see it.. nothing personal.

before i posted my question, i spoke with a Linden via Live Help. She recommended I file an Abuse Report and she was planning on consulting with another Linden who perhaps had a better handle on whether the ad was violating rules. So, I filed. Yeah, it's obvious to me that it's inappropriate and that it's reasonable for me to file a complaint. I was hoping for a brightly lit rule. Guess not.

What I wish is that the people who do these ads get a clue about the Spirit and Intention of the PG vs. Mature sim idea. That would be better than me having been likened to an intolerant mormon. No, I didn't make that up.

Actually, scratch that. Wishing that people all agreed on this is dumb. What I really wish is that LL would ban ads in PG sims that are for mature content. Seems simple enough to me. It's not like there aren't enough M locations for the ads. And it's not like the people who live in PG sims don't ever go to M locations to see said ads.
