Was that way for my alternate account, and my friend didn't see that when she registered, either. Admittedly, I have seen someone else say this on the forums.... perhaps it is a bug of some sort?

I'm confused. Do you mean that there is a name already pre-filled into the resident referral box?

Yes. It was first brought to my attention by a friend, giving the avatars name. I thought nothing of it at that point. Last week I signed up another account, and that same name was there. I back paged to see if the box would be checked and sure enough it was. This person would have got the L$.

Did you follow a link? I think every resident has a personalised link that will automatically fill in their name in the refferal box.. Maybe it remembers it if you've ever visited one?

If you go to SecondLife.com through a referral link from a resident, the name will be pre-filled into the form now. This persists through a cookie I believe. This is nothing new actually, it has done this for a very long time. What is unclear is if each new referral link you click wipes out the previous one or not - that I am not sure of.

duh *slaps head*, sorry I see what you are saying now. If that's the case, a lot of extra referral credits are being generated.

It does not autofill in for me when I click the link from the front page. You must have previously clicked a referral link at some point, and it is stored in your cookies. Regardless, none of it matters as the referral bonuses are suspended during the free account period.

This has been like this for a couple of months at least. Can only assume it's a pretty stubborn cookie I guess.
