Hiya all! I'm new to this game and I'm just wondering if there's any specific areas where there tend to be alot of people gathering(either public or priv land it's all good) Just wondering cuz I've gotten used to most of the controls, but I'd like to try them out in a space with lots of people...

Watch the events board for postings of open houses, games, workshops, etc...

Other than that, watch your map for lots of little white squares, cuz each one of those white squares is a person...

Welcome to Second Life =)

Sinatra - glad you're enjoying the trivia games. I enjoy having you at mine :)

Kiddish - Welcome! Please don't hesitate to IM me if you have any questions -- or you want to hang -- I'm always online when the world is open.

I agree with everyone else -- our gatherings right now are the events, so keep an eye on the Events calendar, which you can find on the Community menu on this site. Other than that, I would say Bel's Pleasure Cove in the Outlands is the most popular gathering place.

Here are the events I run:
Wednesday - Lucky Stars lottery drawing ($20 tickets) and a free $500 drawing for everyone who comes

Wednesday - Newcomers Welcome Reception. This is a new event. There's a post with details in the Events section of this forum.

Friday - TGIF Trivia. I ask the questions, you try to guess the answers. $$ for correct answers and bonuses.

Saturday - SLotto lottery drawing ($10 tickets) and a free $500 drawing for everyone who comes. Recently this has also included a High Roller drawing ($100 tickets).

First day of each month - Struck by luck lottery drawing ($50 tickets) and a free $500 drawing for everyone who comes.

Holding events yourself is also a good way to meet people. If you'd like to give one a try, see Jenn Linden. I'd also be happy to help.

Hope this helps :)
Kerstin

There are usually too many people in the town in Tehama at any given time :) It's a good place to meet people and see some neat stuff. Not such a good place to test your scripts and attachments though.
