Residents of Second Life, many of you have been asking for a reliable and fair way to advertise in world without the clutter of billboards or sign parks. We give you the Ahern/Morris "Advertising Kiosks". Many of you might have noticed that we have been under construction at the new resident welcome area on the Ahern/Morris border. Although construction is ongoing, you will notice that we have laid our four paths that will help new residents learn all that SL has to offer. One important lesson for them will be how or where to find the people, places and things that will make the world enjoyable for them. Here is how it will work: The kiosks accept a 25 ad limit. Each kiosk flushes ads that have been there for 3 days making room for new ones. Residents will be permitted one advertisement per kiosk. Additionally, each path's advertisements must mach the tone of the path. All advertisements must be PG. Kiosks will be checked daily, those advertisements that are not suited for the path, will be removed. Ads that have an "I'm so cool" vibe will also be removed. These Kiosks are not to advertise weekly events.
To advertise, you will need to have prepared one texture and one notecard.
The following are the guidelines for each paths kiosk.

To place an ad, go to the path's kiosk that suits your advertisement, and walk around to the back. There you will see a sign that asks you to touch it to begin. Once touched, the sign will ask you to drop a texture on it. Remember that you must drag the texture from your inventory, then hold CNTRL while dropping on the sign. The sign will then ask you to drop a notecard. This notecard will be offered to residents who are responding to your ad, and should contain any text, landmarks or pictures that are relevant to your ad. Once you have dropped your notecard, your ad will be sent to the kiosk's screen.

I can't seem to get it to work. I can't drop the texture on there. I tried without the ctrl key, holding the ctrl first and then dragging, dragging and then holding the ctrl key while I release the mouse button, usgin ctrl to select both the texture and the notecard and all the methods above to drop both items.....it just doesn't seem to work. :/

Oh yeah, I'm trying to put it on the Compete one.

I forgot to set the modify perms on the advertiser. D'oh!

Kinda.....

cuz I erm.... already sorta broke it. I sorta didn't hold control when dragging the texture on the back. It still works and all but the picture is wrong now .....

Sorry Ryan. Maybe some more judicious use of detecting CHANGED_TEXTURE ? Ah I dunno.

Well, Amas ad is there but everytime I try to load a texture I get the lock icon
I tried three with like results (create, compete and explore) and Lee suggested I post my woes here.
