Today for the first time in our history we have a day to celebrate.. Oddly enough the swedish royal family is descended from a frenchman. One of Napoleon's marshal's, Bernadotte was famous among the swedes for his fair treatment of capurted swedish soldiers following Napoleons destruction of the prussian army in the 1806-1807 campaign. When the Swedes needed someone to take over the throne (I think the prior royal line had died out) they asked Bernadotte to become king of Sweden, which he did as Karl-something (12th maybe, i dunno). Bernaodotte then led the swedish army in the coalition against Napoleon in the struggle of nations in 1813.
The swedish royals are still direct descendants of Bernadotte.

I think that England as well as the Unites States, the offspring of the English, should reciprocate with an "All Swedish" day. Some appropriate activities would include:
1: Cross-Country drinking... wearing skis of course
2. Downhill Drinking... drinking while hurling yourself downhill at over 100mph
3. Cold Beer a-thon... Drinking beer in it's almost ice condition as found outdoors in Sweden... last one standing wins.
4. The historic Damn I'm cold... give me another Beer before I pass out and freeze to death dance.
5. Of course... every town will be mandated to have a wet tee-shirt contest to crown their own "Swedish Bikini Babe"... errr... Princes... Judges are required to down at a minimum a six-pack before judging begins
6. Massage a-thon... Preferably performed by the local "Swedish Bikini Babe"... this is to be used to recover from activities 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5.
