Scripters group

Hey!

I typically spend all my time in game working on some bit of scripting, trying to rise above all the simple example scripts that everyone has copies of (as I call the 'ghetto scripts' ). Usually, I run up against something that isn't documented anywhere and I have no one except Ironchef in game to really get together with to figure stuff out.

So I want to make a group of advanced scripters, people that are working in the unknown script lands where there is no documents. This would typically be a group of people working on their own thing, but when something funny happens, you can bring it up and we can all toss the problem around.

If there is already a group like this let me know I know there is a scripting group that contracts out jobs. I'm more interested in makeing a pure R&D group, rather than that kind of comercial group.

I am not affiliated with Gassy Cat in any way other then sending some projects to them. However I am also available for scripting questions via IM. If I don't know the answer (happening more and more lately) I usually know someone who does.

Ironchef mentioned this to me tonight, and it sounds good. I too am mostly doing my "own thing" but would be nice to have a group of script-minded folks to post questions to and work through problems.

I (also) am not looking for projects in so much as just knowing where to find knowledgible folks that are willing (as time permits) to lend an ear and advice.

Despite my trying to pawn off projects on them, it is my understanding that Gassy Cat is a group of people skilled in many areas, a lot of good scritpers there, who work on their own projects where they can get help from others if they need it.

My understanding is that my script requests essentially go up on a bulleton board and any one of them interested in an extra porject or some extra money can take the project up if they want.
