Yahoo 360

Yahoo started off as a search engine. They then got e-mail and bought out e-groups. They have become of the largest places on the net. Now they have Yahoo 360. Any one in to it?

I actually stopped using Yahoo years ago when they were boycotted for paying their janitorial staff well below the living wage for the area. I'm not sure if that was resolved and I never went back.

perhaps this is a little premature - as I'm new to SL and new to yahoo 360 - but just because you brought it up - I figured I'd show ya.

Yahoo 360 also integrates with Flickr... I'm going to be keeping my secondlife uptodate with yahoo 360

I prefer 360 to MSN myspaces.... though as far as blogs go - I prefer hosting my own - which I do for my first life.

I gotta jet - I'm supposed to be working!

I like Yahoo Groups better then MSN groups but MSN groups does digest 100000 times better then Yahoo. MSN is never as good because of one or two things but does one thing the others do poorly very well. I would like to see this MSN myspaces. I think tonight I will look at it.

I am getting pretty pissed off with Yahoo lately. It's nice because it's sortof a one-stop resource for alot of things but the quality has really been sucking more and more.

I think the last straw for me is going to be:

The fact that I can't get either of TWO browsers to store my worthless password right so I have to keep inputting it every time (twice usually to login once, I have no idea why, retarded eh?) Just started recently too.

or

Because the page no longer renders well under Opera, all of the sudden, and I have no idea why. I'm on an old version but wtf kind of shit HTML are they making over there? Just started recently as well.

Yahoo is also pretty slow alot of times. Man, I just realized how much Yahoo blows!

I need to search for similar alternatives....but NOT Excite, I'd kill myself first. All I want is a damn custom "home page" with built in search, weather, news, and some other stuff in it...damit!!!

WTF is C3PO supposed to be USEFUL for anyway, besides whining? Stupid piece of scrap metal would be more useful recycled as a toaster. But even that would suck, because who would want to listen to a whining wussy toaster? Is he gold plated? If that's the case he should just be melted down into gold ingots. Help the economy some, and stop being so damn useless you stupid bucket of bolts! R2 is 1,000 times more useful than your tin man ass, and he's shaped like a salt and pepper shaker FFS!

Yeah, I get the impression that Yahoo is on a last ditch attempt to pull themselves out of obscurity. Buying Flickr was smart, initiating Y360 when the other social networks are falling apart is just plain bizzare.

Their biggest advantage at this point is mere name recognition; don't forget that there are still a *lot* of machines out there that are homepaged to netscape.com.

WOW! what a MASSIVELY chump move!!

they're commiting TWO acts of "hey, we can do that, too" all in one move.

360 - gain popularity through Xbox recognition (which any true Xbox fan will see as a lame attempt to gain popularity through obvious relation)

AND

Yahoo 360 - MySpace is making money and is quite popular.. maybe if we copycat that AND include Flickr as a *bonus*, people will come to us? ..maybe?
