In our continuing efforts to improve the Second Life experience, we are planning on updating the Second Life grid to version 1.6.9 on Wednesday, July 27, 2005 from 6:00 AM PST to 12:00 Noon PST. During that time Second Life will be unavailable.

Following are the 1.6.9 release notes:

Second Life 1.6.9(4) Jul 27, 2005

* Preemptive fix for potential client exploits
* Optimized the retrieval of images from asset server
* Fixed a bug to reduce the occurrences of extraneous simulators
* Added script controls to the tools menu
* Offered items now disclose their owner
