Is there anyway to move an entire folder from the library textures to the inventory texture file or do I really have to move them down one by one? if I move them will they stay in my inventory folder???

Thanks

Just drag the folder like you would a file, all its contents move with it. :)

I find it easiest to open a second inventory window and drag folders & files from one window to the other. Open the second window under the New menu in the inventory window.

omg!
How the hell do you open a second inventory window?
That would solve so many problems. (so much for a discoverable interface)

Up at the top of the inventory, where you empty the trash, clik on 'open new window'. I am not in game at the moment but I think that is what it says. A new window will open next to the other so you can drag back and forth.

Ah, I am such an idiot. After three months I am still "discovering" some fairly basic things. :)

Out of curiosity, is there *anywhere* where interface things like this (and this item in particular), are explained? I tend to not RTFM, but is there a manual at all?

I am thinking specifically of interface issues here. I find the SL interface kind of clunky and definately non-standard in so many ways, yet I have never seen a good review of it anywhere. Even a list of keyboard shortcuts would be nice, though I notice that the Mac equivalent keystrokes are rearely mentioned.

Is there a website that explains this stuff and I am the only one who does not know about it? As a "discoverable" interface, it fails miserably IMO.

Back in the 'good old days" there used to be an occasional UI class, but frankly they were very poorly attended. I went to one when I was over a year old and the instructor wanted to know if I was looking to take her job. I laughed and said "no, I am here to learn as I know practically nothing about UI"

If you have any questions along these lines your best resource is Live Help. Go to Help and you can IM them from there. It is immediate and you don't have to wait for someone to read your post and feel up to answering it.

Well I dont like to bug live help too much
esp for piddly stuff like this.

Can I save face by assuming the second inventory window feature was recently added? :)

I was sure i checked for this right at the start as inventory management takes days without it.
I have actually spent two entire days in the sandbox before cleaning up inventory before. That's how long it used to take moving one item at a time up that long, long list.

Actually Live Helpers like those kind of questions. And NO! You can't save face, that option has been around quite a while.
