abandoned or incomplete structures?

I think that the amount of creativity that people put into making their houses and landscaping is truly outstanding... for the most part. Even those that are not anywhere close to my own taste earn my respect simply because someone took the time to create them. Now, there seems to be an amazing amount of stuff that is either incomplete or abandoned. With there being such a limited amount of land available I would hope that this stuff can be cleaned up, I guess you can't do much with the incompletes though. I love the areas where you get several amazing houses all around each other to create a great ambience. I noticed this seems more common along the coasts. Are there any groups or housing associations where people have this type of neighborhood in mind? If anyone else has their own thoughts on this please let me know!

Currently, such stuff hangs around for 60 days are an account is cancelled. However, with the land shortages I suggest to the Lindens that this is far too long a grace period. I suggest a maximum of 30 days for these objects/land to go public. To hold for 60 days in hopes that an individual might come back, is generous on the part of LL, but it is rather unfair to the rest of us still playing the game.

Slate has a neighborhood association that has building guidelines to keep the area wooded and peaceful. There are a few others that have Linden Zoning Rules, Brown, Green, De Haro, Lusk, and Boardman.

Please chime in if I left out any others besides the themed sims that have zoning guidelines.

This issue has come up before. There are a great many unfinished builds or simple jumbles of useless prims that have sat untouched for months, yet can never be deleted. The owner is probably one of these:

1) Players account is closed, but for some reason their property isn't reverting to Public as it should.

2) Player's account is active, but never bothers to log in.

3) Player's account is active, but can't be bothered to clean up after himself/herself.

4) Player's account is active, and wishes to keep the build for whatever reasons.

Only in the first scenario can something be done about it. It would be nice, in my opinion, if there were a concerted, voluntary effort to remove prims that aren't really wanted/needed by the player who put them there... especially in sims where the object usage is maxed out.
