Sounds like an infomercial doesn't it? A new age way of life?
Actually it is a Second Life experience I had.
One day I was building on my land. As I moved around to the back of my land I couldn't get any perspective on my build because my neighbors behind me had made their land private.
"How annoying!" "What rude people!"
I contonued to try and work around their magical barrier, all the while getiing more and more annoyed at people I've never met.
One day I see them over in their house. Just look at them over there. All smug and privatized.
Then I decided to ask them if they would add me to their land access list so I could build more easily on mine. In the 30 seconds it took them to respond I hated these people with a venom I usually reserve only for people with more than 12 items in the express lane.
Then came the response.
"I don't think that would be a problem. One sec."
No problem?!?!? Well let me tell you about no problem you snotty little private land...oh....um...
"Thanks much"
And so it goes.

Thanks for sharing, Neehai I had a similar experience with one of my neighbors. Mild annoyance #1 was the privacy barier getting in the way of my flight path. Then he built something funny and I sent him an IM that I was his neighbor and I liked the build. No response. I'm thinking, maybe he's an antisocial hermit or something. Not long after that we met in person. We got along fine and he ended up becoming one of my best SL pals. Thank goodness I didn't have a chip on my shoulder when we met or things would have gone very differently!

Yeah, well, um, sure, I try that a lot. Especially when I spend a lot of money and buy in an area and am getting sandbagged by their security script three ways from Sunday coming out of the telehub just to fly to MY LAND dammit.
I found this one couple awhile ago where he put me on the admit list, just so my av wouldn't be bounced around. Then *she* came home and undid it because she wanted *their* privacy and was just convinced that I wanted to do nothing more than peek at her and him on the balls. So the next day I confronted *him* about the pledge to keep me on the admit list and he made it clear he had caved. So there I am bouncing around their land 100 times more than they can ever bounce on their balls.
Honestly, this game sucks some time, and it is a game when people do shit like that.
What especially suxxors more is that I even sold them part of my plot of land to ensure them more "privacy" since they were all freaky (you do have to wonder why they first wait for me to come along and buy the huge piece then immediately demand I carve up a small piece and by it for a lower rate -- well whatever, it's SL).
Then even after I graciously sell them the piece they desire, they take me off the admit list. This is after a cordial sale, with no fight, no nothing, just because they are special.
Finally I put the remainder of the land to sale, they don't buy it. Ah, whatever, I know 1536 of tier is a whopping $8/month and so hard to pay! Better I let an isolated piece of land just sit there on someone else's tier, keep them and everybody else banned from the area like criminals, so that I can have "forest cover".

This thread is now about Prokofy Neva.
*Hands out hard hats and waders*
Thanks for the story Neehai, it proves that sometimes a bad situation can turn out good if one doesn't freak out and simply talks to the neighbor.
