I saw The Interpretor last weekend while everyone was seeing Star Wars III.
While people have been giving mixed reviews of the latter, The Interpretor was an excellent film that was entertaining while dealing with issues of genocide, terrorism, and the quest for peace.

Dude, I saw this when it first came out and thought it was weak. I really just wanted to slap the piss out of Nicole's character for constantly holding out even after people died because of it. And I wanted to slap the piss out of Sean Penn for being such a limp wristed wuss when it came to her....and for that Hanoi Jane stunt he pulled in Iraq.

Then you missed the whole point of the movie.

Nicole is hawt but the movie was kinda bland. I shouldnt have broken my rule of only watching movies with an imdb rating of 7 or more, but, like i said, nicole is hawt.

Bleh, there's better out there than her. She is "hawt", but she's that boring kind of hawt...you know, that kind you see everywhere. Besides, I bet Sandra Bullock would kick her ass.

BTW

WTF is C3PO supposed to be USEFUL for anyway, besides whining? Stupid piece of scrap metal would be more useful recycled as a toaster. But even that would suck, because who would want to listen to a whining wussy toaster? Is he gold plated? If that's the case he should just be melted down into gold ingots. Help the economy some, and stop being so damn useless you stupid bucket of bolts! R2 is 1,000 times more useful than your tin man ass, and he's shaped like a salt and pepper shaker FFS!

I agree. Nicole would need to start eating more than just lettuce to take on Sandra.

I thought The Interpreter was definately interesting, however, it slowed down at some points. I guess it depends on what you're in the mood for. If you're coming out of work and not wanting to have to think and follow a complex plot, then I would say Star Wars or The Longest Yard would be the way to go. But, if you're interested in the UN and stuff, then give this a shot.

I also really liked Nicole's hair color in this movie :D

There are other ways to break silence that don't include violence.

Must I rehash our conversation about India / The Berlin Wall / South Africa / etc? You acknowledged that they were examples when military might was not needed for a revolution.
