I've just updated to version .4 and read the notes...some impressive changes!
One of the things that immediately caught my attention are the changes made to the ratings system...instead of one general rating, we now have three seperate ratings...one for behavior, one for appearance (applause) and one for building (more applause). I think this will be a big enhancement to the SL enviroment overall, as it will reward people for different aspects of their 2nd lives. The $1 charge for rating someone is fair enough, imo.
Question: what happens to our "general" ratings, and how will the ratings bonus be figured from this point forward? Also, has the infamous Win XP bug been fixed? (goodness, I hope so...)
Can't wait to get o/l tonight to see how this *major* update pans out...keep up the good work Lindens!

Congratulations and many thanks to the Lindens for the new release features. You guys have been working hard! Nice job. Smooches to whoever programmed the pig tails and resolved the IM flooding Hugs to whoever programmed the rating system changes Thanks - Kerstin

Yes, I believe the infamous XP pre-emptive file-cache bug has been fixed (by Ian BTW).
Stephen did the pigtails, and James split the ratings system.

I've been encountering many people as of late who complain of persistant lag probs...which was very true of myself until I did a clean re-install, at which point things are running much better for me.
How many of you out there have performed a clean install of ver .4.1 and gotten greatly improved performance?
Lindens: Would this be a recommended proceedure for anyone experiencing severe lag?
