How best to retire for a while?

I've had great fun building my homes, but I just don't seem to have as much time to spend in SL lately. I have 1952 sq. meters of waterfront property in Quentin with a beautiful custom-built modern home and 30,000 lindens in the bank. But the monthly tier fees are a pain since I'm never around.

What's the best way to liquidate? Or is there some way of freezing or transferring my assets until I have more time?

I appreciate any advice. TIA.

Sell it for a really cheap price?
Take a copy of everything into inventory if you want to restore it later.

I don't mind paying my tier, but I really don't have much time for SL these days.

My plan is just to fade away. :)

I like this course of action, though, because it leaves the door open for future comebacks and product maintenance for my userbase of 500+ customers.

I do not like this plan very much.

Aww. :)

Like I said, leaves room for comebacks. I know, though, that for the next few months I'm just going to be tangled in countless job-related responsibilities and other fun life-starting things, so SL gets the back burner action.

Like I said, though, everything is staying in place and I'll still respond to support requests and other IM's as usual. Still have plans for future products and revisions to existing stuff. Just need to find the time. :D

You could sell the land to one landbaron for less than 1/3 what you paid for it originally, then sell the L$ on GOM or one landbaron's own moneychanging system.

Heh, touche. Even if my on-grid presence fades away, I'll have a hard time staying away from you lovely people in the forums. ;)

Just ask some certain Lindens to hold the land for you in the Governor's name and sell it back to you (for below market value) when you are ready to play again. They do it for some favored players, so why not you too?

Stay tuned.....

It's disappointing that some of you see the need to post scarcastic, unhelpful and off topic responses when I ask a sincere question and am in need of some advice.

Reed - you did not mention if you sold your homes or not but perhaps you could team up with a person who sells something that is complementry (like furniture?) and rent your property to them and that would pay for a good part of your tier.

I too got busy in RL remodeling a house and am still in the process of a RL move but am kind of sorry that I tiered down as much as I did now. At one point my interest in SL dropped off but then it picked up again.

So I guess I'd recommend leasing to someone that you trust until your certain that you've permanently decided not to put any further effort into Quentin.

uhhh.... its so nice to see someone here who really is not a forum person. hi reed. i am not reccomending that you study the forums at all. lord no. just... well... gosh this is pretty much par.

i would sell all i could sell, land etc. even just set it at a reasonable price and learn weeks later if it sold. or not. if you decide to come back then deal with coming back. this is dealing with leaving.

my two cents.
