Have there been any threads on this yet? I have looked but its devilishly hard to search, PSP being only 3 letters..

Thinking about getting one and I know, SL players being the tech savvy people they are they'll be full of advice and tips! I hope :p

So, anyone got one? How do the video and MP3 functions work, would you be ok using it as your main MP3 player? Is it true it extracts fingerprints from your eyes when you look at it?

Thanks in advance!

lol

Yeah it's true, it does a retinal scan of your eyes after between one and five hours of consecutive use, and stores the data for unknown purposes!

BTW PSP is supposed to stand for Paint Shop Pro, Playstation stole the "PSP" name, I hope they get sued!!!!

BTW

WTF is C3PO supposed to be USEFUL for anyway, besides whining? Stupid piece of scrap metal would be more useful recycled as a toaster. But even that would suck, because who would want to listen to a whining wussy toaster? Is he gold plated? If that's the case he should just be melted down into gold ingots. Help the economy some, and stop being so damn useless you stupid bucket of bolts! R2 is 1,000 times more useful than your tin man ass, and he's shaped like a salt and pepper shaker FFS!

I like mine as well, especially since I got the 2.0 update with its web browser. I didn't like using the Wipeout Pure game to use the internet, even though I do like that game.

I haven't gotten one of those movies you can play on it though, I prefer to see it on the T.V. (Unless they decide to have some way to be able to hook it up to one).

I don't have one, but it looks like such an awesome piece of kit. I saw footage of the game Wipeout Pure. Looks seriously badass (I have fond memories of playing earlier installments in the series)!

I also love my PSP. The package I got came with the Spider-man 2 UMD, and it actually looks quite good on the screen, especially since it has a 16:9 aspect ratio.

One pirce of advice -- don't buy Lumines if you have any sort of time commitments. It's like digital crack. Seriously fun, and incredibly addictive. :p

A buddy of mine has a PSP, so I can kinda comment on it: It's not bad.

The PSP plays MP3s well enough to probably be used as a regular MP3 player, the games are pretty good, the graphics aren't bad, but.. It's kinda large, the "joystick" is in a very uncomfortable place, and you'd probably need big pockets or some kind of rig(with additional purchase) to wear it on a belt or something.

The thing also uses some sort of weird shortened Sony memory stick. Other than all that.. I dunno. I never had the chance to watch a movie on it, but I'd rather not do so on a device I have to hold through the whole thing.

Don't tell me that! I'm ultra sensitive to such things! I had to uninstall tetris from my old old old computer because I never slept and got peices falling in front of my eyes when I closed them!

Got a Japanese import a few months ago and absolutely love it.

I agree Lumies is really addictive, Mercury is also really good (but hard), Wipeout Pure is just awesome. Also got Hot Shots Golf (it's been renamed Everybody's Golf in the UK I think), Fifa, Ridge Racer and Colin Mcrae 2005.

Forget Colin Mcrae though - it's a bit shoddy and it feels like it's been rushed. Also, it's is unbelievably hard, even for me and I've been used to playing Colin Mcrae for years. Hard to the point of frustration.

I'm looking forward to the next few months of releases as well: SSX On Tour, Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories and Gran Tourismo 4.

There are still times, months later, when I'm playing a game and I just can't believe it's all in this little package in my hands - really nice piece of kit.

Get one, you know you want one!

The battery on my iPod died a few months back, and the PSP has taken it's place. I have a 1GB memory stick, and it holds a few albums at a time, which is all I need since I'm never that far from my laptop. Since I bring the PSP on business travel, the iPod is one less device I have to lug around with me.

The browser really impressed me. Tabbed browsing, nice rendering, etc. I have bookmarks for Bloglines, Gmail, and Vonage which makes my toy very useful.

I also think Midnight Club 3: Dub Edition is a rockin game. One of the more fun games I've played on any system (I should prob check out the PS2 version)....

I'm also looking forward to Madden. You can share a season between your PS2 and PSP, which is cool, cause I'm not always dedicated enough to finish a season on my PS2.

I really just want to go on another PSP shopping spree and get a bunch of games I wanted to check out, but I'm trying to be a good boy.
