DELL Notebook Adapter Recall

Thought I'd post this here for those of us who have a DELL Laptop for playing Second Life on or use one for uploadable content creation. ^^

DELL has issued a recall on several models of notebook AC adapters as these adapters can overheat and start a fire.

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, Dell is voluntarily providing the Customers who purchased certain AC Adapters that were sold for use with some models of Dell LatitudeTM , Dell PrecisionTM and Dell InspironTM notebook computers (Part Numbers 9364U, 7832D and 4983D) with a free replacement AC adapter. Looks like I'll be without my beloved laptop for a while. ^^'

Thanks for posting that - turns out my laptop at home needs a new adaptor - wouldn't want it bursting into flames!

I just had to replace my DELL Inspiron 8000's adapter back in July after 3 years of use and abuse. After 5 days I finally had a replacement adapter, and now have to call up DELL to return it for a replacement. ^^

I can live without my laptop for a few days. Just have to live off my iPAQ for a while. ^^
