If you haven't read your Popular Science all the way through yet:

Welcome to LEGO® Digital Designer! With Digital Designer 1.3, you can build anything in your imagination using virtual LEGO bricks - right on your computer at home!

Lego Factory

I figured some of the SL crowd would enjoy playing with this.

Neat part is that it gives you a pick list of the blocks needed to actually build the model.

 SL is doomed! How can Linden possibly compete with that? The prims stay where you link them! I knew it was only a matter of time before somebody topped LL technology. :(

LEGO Digital Designer is not Apple Macintosh compatible.

Yeah, that sucks. They've never been good at supporting anything other than Windows. But LEGOs still rule!

Hello!!!!! Blockland!

www.blockland.us

but download it from here:

www.thebettermod.com

Probably 10,000 times better than the official lego one, and has been around for a lot longer. In fact, it was talking about Block Land that got someone to introduce me to Second Life. Blockland you actually play a lego type character in a never ending virtual indoor/outdoor world, and you can build anything at all.

Personally, I suggest either LeoCAD or LDraw/MLCAD... I've used both for years, I love them. Dunno about non windows compatability offhand... I know LeoCAD supports linux tho.
