The growing population meter is alarming.

In the long term, the problem may solve itself, as an increasing population will eventually reach a point where there's not enough resources to support it, and the numbers will drop like a brick. The bad news, of course, is that this means a huge bunch of us, ah, go "night night" if you catch my drift...

Ive actually read that some analysts believe the trend to zero population growth will be reached somewhere between 10 and 15 billion Humans on Earth.

In much of Western Europe, for example, poplation growth is actually neagative.

It is beleived this is a natural result of a reaching a certain cultural/economic/technological development level.

Of course, some outlying factors .. such as a prohibition or unavailbilty of Birth Control .. could mean these observations are just wishful thinking.
