lets talk about the issue of making avs have to eat sleep and pee like real life. now this is dumb isnt the point of sl to come on and escape real life. escape death, sickeness, escape handicaps even. why in the world would we want our avs, aka dolls really we are basically playing with dolls, why would we want them to respond to illness and being hungry and peeing and pooping. i get enough at work at the hospital i work at, i get enough of it at home in rl so do we all. why come onto sl if your av gets haggared looking just cause it hasnt eaten. and how about people being mean and peeing all over you. well i saw someone do that it was discusting.
MY VOTE is to keep the avs the way they are, not subject to real life problems and conditions.

I completely disagree with your first paragraph Julieanna. I couldn't agree more with your second paragraph. When I read the proposal about making avs need to eat and exercise I just wanted to point and scream "TSO is that way!"

I don't even know what to say to this. Everything I consider typing out would surely violate Community Standards or something.

I wish I had something like that pancake rabbit, though. That pretty well spells out my thoughts in the most polite manner possible.

I realize English is not everyone's first language, but could you please slow down and start again? What are you talking about? Please use sentences if you can. Punctuation and captialization would be nice too, but complete sentences would be a great start.

People, this person was making a valid point. It wasn't that hard to understand. For the 'non reader' types out there, here it is in simple english:

* I don't like the voting system
* I think SL avs are fine as they are, and should not move to be more like TSO avs

There we go, see, she's not making any points which are that unreasonable. She has a personal opinion on the voting system, and a comment I agree with in position 2.

Jsecure, I think it's great you can translate the jibberish Julianna tries to pass as communication, poor as it is. I've seen ESL students type in forums in the past, but at least they attempt to use punctuations. Not since grade school have I seen such bad grammars. I never realized how annoying run-on sentences can be when one is attempting to communicate. One can only guess where Julianna's sentences begins and ends...even if you break her sentences up, many of them don't even make complete sentences. What is so hard with doing basic elementary grammar?

More power to you, Jsecure, if you want to take the mantle as Julianna's translator. Maybe English is not her first language, but if she is going to attempt to utilize this forum for her soap box, she needs to greatly improve her communication skills if she expects anyone to take her and her posts seriously.

As for your translation, I agree...this is not TSO and wouldn't want to have to bother with feeding my AV. As for the voting system, I'm sure there was some good intent behind it...I've not messed with it myself, but if the community fails to any inherent value in it, it will go away with all the other suggested features that didn't pan out to be very successful or well accepted.

The problem is one of credibility. If one wants to be taken seriously, one proves one's point with a modicum of support, assuming the point is not self-evident.

"the voting system is dumb" is something a child would write. Not only in diction, but in argument. There's no explanation behind this opinion and yet we're expected to take it as fact.

Secondly, whether or not the point is valid, Julianna is making a pointless argument. She argues against doing the one thing that would make this discussion bear fruit. She doesn't want us to vote to keep immortal, non-peeing avatars. So she'd like to keep this discussion away from Linden Lab being able to do anything about it via a boycott of the voting system.

Well, I guess "dumb" isn't such a bad word, huh?

Thankyou for taking my comments as they were intended, simply an attempt to clarify So much in the forums is taken the wrong way. I just wanted to clarify what she was saying, and everyone's taken it as just that so far, so that's good. I was just paranoid someone would hate me for my post or something

My personal thoughts? I think the voting system is good. It's excellent that we can directly communicate to LL exactly what is important to us; that can only be a good thing. And as for being able to pee in second Life, ironically I think both parties may be right. I don't want a peeing function, but you know, if enough people wanted it I bet there are designers and scripters who could build attachments to make people need to pee. That's what's so great about SL, you can have it YOUR way

So script it. It shouldn't be too hard to add a nice shock for hitting an electrified rail, either.

And I second the bunny-pancake combo.

I wouldn't even bother with it... just because a proposal is made - and gathers some votes - doesn't guarrantee it will be used.

Especially when something functional like this can be scripted (god knows I've already done the 'pee' one myself -- you can hit the crapper at 20m even! - try THAT in 'the sims').

I could put up a proposal to give me 1million lindendollars - that doesn't fall into the technically impossible -- I'm sure I could gather up quite a few votes for shits and giggles too... This doesn't, however, guarantee that I'll be rollin in the dough.
