Here I sit, my UPS screaming at me as it keeps my DSL and 802.11 hub alive for the last few moments before it gives up. (I'm on my laptop to keep the UPS alive longer).
Power is out for blocks around, and, dangit, I had no plans for today but to tinker in SL. But NoooOOOooo... he powers that be have said "Thou shalt sit and twiddle your thumbs until boredom claims your mind! And thou shalt be deprived a decent espresso because your car is locked behind the electric garage door and all the cafes within walking distance are without power... so HA!"
Twitch, fidget, blink-blink-blink.
I can make it...
I could make it.. .
If I could just get a decent mug of joe to hold me over until the power comes back...
Aaagghh.. the insanity.
(And now, the big question, can I post this before my UPS dies and cuts me off from the outside world? ..... Hmmmm ... Let's see)

All garage door openers have an emergency release handle/cord somewhere on the connection between the door and the opener. Usually a red handle on a cord. Give it a tug, then manually lift the garage door.

3... 2... 1... Disaster Averted! What, am I living in some kind of bad cliche action movie? The Very Second I hit (Submit Reply) on the previous post. I mean Exactly that second... all the lights came back on. Either universal causality is seriously messed up, or someone is toying wtih me. (please! No more 90+ minute power outages! At least let me get my espresso and SL fix before hand! =)

Actually, it's a big wrought iron gate thing which requires finding a security guard... and having the guard find the 'special crank' they use to winch it open. Takes them a while to each of the garages open. (had experience with this during California's infamous rolling black outs in the past)

It's alright, Jopsy, we all have our little bouts of insanity. Even I...even I. *much hugs*

in the same theory of a double negativem, wouldnt two UPSs negate each other, by trying to keep each other powered up? <yes, I know the answer people, the post was a joke...>
