Second Life will be making some appearances on G4's show Portal (G4 is a cable network dedicated to gaming). We should be in episodes 203-206, an arc which begins this Wed. http://www.g4tv.com/html/showinfo.asp?view=schedule&show_key=24&episode_key=580For those who don't get G4 (me included), we hope to offer clips on our website down the road. enjoy - and if you catch it, let us know what you think

Can you let us know when you are capturing any in-game footage? I don't want to be on national television with no pants (or... do I?)

I believe it has already been shot - but don't worry, they were mostly capturing their own antics. Hmmm, if they want to do a follow-up segment we'll have to put up big signs in-world which say "Warning: Filming Going On. By entering this area you consent to being recorded." And Wednesday, I'm not even gonna touch the no-pants thing

I saw the first episode of that show Portal that features Second Life.
If you don't know what Portal is, this is a show that tells a story using MMORPGs and characters within them to tell the story... think of it as a soap opera where most of the characters are virtual in nature. If you cross Days of our Lives with MST3K, you get the feel of the show.
How does Second Life fit into the story? Here's how:
There is this character, Dirk Ruddy, who is supposed to be the most popular actor in the virtual worlds. A villian called Apex, who resides in TSO and has the power to command anyone to do whatever he wants through his word balloons ("I speak with no sound and my word is law" was how it was described, and every other virtual character in the show have voiceovers) forced Dirk to ruin his career in the most embarrasing way, and Dirk declares to everyone in Asheron's Call (where the character was based) that he was a bed wetter and had a security blanket (among other things).
Dirk contacts Dave (the host of the show and the only human you see most of the time... he also created the show) about what happened to him. Dave, not wanting to cause a panic in the virtual worlds with information on Apex, sent Dirk to a new virtual world where he could start fresh... his "Second Life".
I hope that the show does more with Second Life in future episodes... this could get a LOT more people interested in SL.
Well, that's just my take on things.
