According to the police blotter, LL appears to be employing pre-cogs (cf. Minority Report by Philip K. Dick). For example:
Date: Monday, May 4, 2020
Violation: Community Standards: Rules of Conduct
Region: Swain
Description: Disrupting an event with offensive chat, particles, repetitive noises, etc. (MB)
Action taken: Suspended 3 days.
Date: Sunday, March 26, 2006
Violation: Community Standards: Assault, Scripted Objects
Region: Milu
Description: Assault scripted weapon
Action taken: Suspended 3 days.
Date: Wednesday, May 25, 2005
Violation: Community Standards: Intolerance
Region: Pickerel
Description: This joker used an alt account to place anti-gay signage on another Resident's land.
Action taken: Suspended 14 days.
But they have better pre-cogs and it is nice to know that SL is doing well in 2020 A.D. Alas, griefing hasn't changed by then.

This has always intrigued me. I imagine it's the result of someone typing in the wrong date into a reporting system. Even so, it's very funny.
