Here's the idea anyway. This [what im about to propose] is semi game/semi story. It really doesnt have anything to do w/ SL but may be fun. It also comes in installments (easier to make, longer to play), and involves everything from posts in the forumns, to events held in game. If anyone wants to help, (or tell me to shut up, and keep to the more traditional, if u can call them that, events, than fine)

While I was drifting through Lindenburg, making dominos, and minding my own business, im confronted by a raving lunatic (I swear, i didnt just get up and look in ther mirror). He was raving about documents, government, assasins, and everything good about politics (lol). While I enjoy reading Robert Ludlum books, i dont like living them, and normally I just ignore such ravings except that moments later, his supposedly deranged and paranoid brain was splattered all over the PWA's grass. Needless to say, I was speechless. A rather scary looking man (again, I swear, I wasnt looking in the mirror), dressed in black fatigues, and carrying a silenced MP5, started walking my way. Luckily, it was getting dark (and the lights had been shut off), so I beat a hasty retreat. So here I sit, writing out what may turn out to be a last will and testamat (sp?), and all I have to say is this, so long as I breath (or get support for what I will call for lack of a better term, and immersion story game, corny, I know), I will investigate these allegations. Roving assasins and political corruption may be fascinating to read about in stories of fiction (or of a certain southwestern town that I will not mention right now, RW), but when they plague our fair Second Life, they will not do. Follow the money, as the old saying goes, hopefully, we will not have to follow the bodies.

Anyway, who knows. Evidence or suspicions may arise in articles or investigations, or more desperate ramblings. Maybe events disrupted (dont worry, only if they are staged specificially to advance the story) I'd pay particular interest to the off topic forumn or the local (ingame) paper, to chronical the immenent investigation by Justice Department and IRS into several high ranking officials. If you'd like to participate in this, or contribute an idea, or maybe even reverse the plot altogether (maybe alien artifacts are discovered that shine a new light on the development of SL? Or ruins of another civ?) Eventually, I hope to actually conclude this series (lol) w/ a public expose, and a prize to whoever can build and present a case against the offending NPC of the story, much like a game of clue, but all that TBD, for now, think of it as a novel, progressing as time goes on. This reminds me of that game where you could give the people your pager number, phone number, e-mail, a bunch of personal information and they'd set up a game for you that involved solving a mystery in real life, even though the mystery was made up. Kinda scary idea in the real world, but could work out well in SL =)

That was called Majestic... great idea, but it didn't take off like they thought.

I really like this idea personally... I think it would be fun (this, of course, is coming from a person who loved the conspiracy portions of The X-Files).

Bye bye for now,

Majestic was supposed to go in to wide-launch mid September 2001, but for some reason, random anonymous messages about murders and bombings didn't seem like a good idea then :(

Dont worry, there will be no calls to people, no emails, no faxes, etc. Above all else, no one will actually be threatened. On the other hand, certain NPCs will be. Maybe a reporter does a story that gets a little close to the truth, or a diary entry will lead an entrepid detective to the scene of a covered up crime (or other location that holds more evidence). As a hint for this first "episode", the contraversy revolves around the PWA and it's public park design. I mean, of all places to build, why Lindenburg? Why is the PWA buying the land up? Why a park? (Ok, so now im just spreading paranoia, but i figured taking potshots at myself and my group was a good starting point, although i'd like to assure the folk of Lindenburg that while this story might flame paranoia, I am not the meglomanical person, in game or out, that this story might paint me to be, lol) Anyway, good to atleast get some basic good response. And as far as yall know, i havent been exectured and replaced by a government puppet who's only objective is to spread disinformation. :) -Asher LeFay (Or is it?)
