ok I don't normally post here as you all know..I had intended that Island for myself and the several people I brought here....we wanted to build city. Fiz played me at the end telling me he was out and congradulations and read the forum cuz Christiano is a whinner...is why I am here in the 1st place posting..so folks as you see this is nothing more petty greed..I intented to give the land to new members..why..because I can..and love my friends... but this Fiz person IM's me talking a line.... in the last seconds of the bid....a detour..my mistake for giving a sh*t...and then clock stopped.

Obscuro, a) Spell my name right, I did you the courtesy of that. b) I am not a whiner - I said if it was a legitimate bid, then you would end up with it, which thankfully in hindsight you did not. If you want to spend $1200 on virtual land, more power to you - I made a decision that once you started driving things up that far, it was not worth it to me financially. c) I was not unhappy about not getting the sim, there will be others - I was unhappy about the process. As it stood, that auction does not benefit any of us who are seriously interested in a sim - you, myself, Fiz, or Chance Small, who bailed out early. All it did was drive the price to a ridiculous level.I would like to have seen anyone who wanted an entire sim have the opportunity without having to pay through the nose just to get the right to pay $195 a month on top of that. d) Congratulations Fiz Cristiano

From: someone Originally posted by Obscuro Valkyrie I was not bitching about you,,the other dude was..sorry man..read My apologies to you then. I stayed out of SL and ignored IMs for precisely the reason of what happened to you. Fiz proved he/she wanted that land no matter what it took, so congrats again. In the end, it was just not important enough to me to spend $1200 on virtual land rights.

$1200? I have a bad feeling about the future of Second Life.

I have to agree with Maxx.
This poses a much better outlook for the survival of SL than if it had gone for too little.
If they reinvest a good portion of this money, it could work out as great positive feedback loop for adding more land (and eventually more people) to SL.
I don't really see how anyone loses other than the people who didn't get to buy the land for the price they wanted.
Everyone else should benefit indirectly from it...

Hmmmmm....$1200 for a sim...well thats no different than an paying 1200 for a pc then with the monthly fees paying $195 to be able to play same aforementiond PC....good business math for LL but um..hehe I cant afford a new PC at home let alone 1200 for a sim.
Congrats to Kiz that won it and Cristiano sorry they went nutz on the bidding.
Wait lemme do the math on that again....
1 + 1 = infinity...works for me.
Im just still in shock...1200 for a sim What can you say.

It's still going to cost 12*195=$2340 a year to keep a whole Sim, so I guess if you can afford that, you can afford to bid $1200.

My guess is that, had the auction been extended a few minutes after that last bid, someone would have bidded higher.
Maybe, maybe not.....

But even that would suck, because who would want to listen to a whining wussy toaster? Is he gold plated? If that's the case he should just be melted down into gold ingots. Help the economy some, and stop being so damn useless you stupid bucket of bolts! R2 is 1,000 times more useful than your tin man ass, and he's shaped like a salt and pepper shaker FFS!

I think it's brilliant that someone laid out the cash like that. If you have the funds and the drive, go for it.
Long live the auction block!
