Annoying IMs from trial users

Who are these people who IM me without having ever met me?
Where do they get my name?
Do they just pick someone at random from the find users??
I'm beginning to wonder if someone hates me and memorized my name to come on SL in several successive trial accounts and annoy me.
Do trials get access to the forums? Maybe I should stop posting so people wont see my name and bug me in game.
Could we have a button for a global mute on trials, or removal from the find users search results or something?
Reporting abuse on trials is futile since they will be probably be gone sooner than the lindens can ban them.
Has anyone else been bugged by trials through IM?

Ummmmm welll have you ever tried being helpful and/or reffering them to someone else?

All they have to do is a search to see who is on line. Yes I have had some IMs too early in the morning. But thankfully they have been nice ones, just asking for help.

They werent asking me for help Darwin, I help every noob on sight, give them free stuff, teach them how to build... They were just being annoying, period.

Part of the starter island tutorial involves using the search tool to find out who's on and sending an IM. I've gotten a couple of them too. The tutorial tells them to do it so be nice to them!

I was with someone the other day who said someone was IMing him asking what color an egg was supposed to be. ??

I have new sympathy for "information" operators. They have long complained that people call them asking for information rather than phone numbers as intended.

Eggy you are on in the morning, I've noticed, when few residents and more importantly, no Lindens are around. What the trial users are doing is searching for ANYONE inworld to talk to or to ask for help. It happens to me all the time when I log in early morning. If you don't want to talk to them just tell them you are in a meeting or something. There are sometimes I am glad to help, and then there are times I'm busy and I wish we had an optional "stealth login".

This one guy came to my pad and did like nine zillion backflips and wanted a copy of my jetpack. LAEM

I would just like to point out, again, that there are immature 40 year olds and adult 12 year olds. Age has little to do with it.

As had been said..."Youth is wasted on the young". A immature trial member can be annoying but its not like SL does not have any other annoying folks.
I think most of the trial people have been cordial but curious and its a part of the our world now so we have to try and be as understanding as we can. Most of the trial people just don't know our world and its customs and prodical. Some come in thnking its like a fpshooter or something .( I guess they dont read any of the web page) . So usually after you explain how things usually are in Sl they become easier to deal with. In the end we are never going to eliminate that "annoying faction" and actually in small doses is entertaining to me.
Our Diversity is the power that draws us together but misdirected can pulls us apart.

I put up a huge billboard at the welcome area in Ahern. It has a picture of Eggy and it says "Wanted: Dead or Alive, Reward of L$10k" Maybe that's why? =P hehehehe
