Alright, I'm Done With This Battle

My goal was to respond to things that I felt were untrue, and to challenge and report continued abuse by certain parties.

I felt I have done so.

I may have posted lighthearted pictures, and I may have been very stern when I challenge false statements, but I do NOT endorse parody-mocking people with alts, and I do NOT endorse retaliating with swear words.

I'm done with the forums for *this* issue.

I'm glad you admitted that you have been sitting there and abuse-reporting right and left.

Coco really opened my eyes to the reality that this is how the system works.

For months, I never abuse-reported a soul. I thought to do so would be to behave like a little weenie, a tattle-tale, a little suck-up running to the Linden nannies to cry "foul" each time another adult on this site for adults said "fuck" or made a personal insult.

It just never occurred to me to hit that little "caution" sign and AR somebody for their vicious, nasty, name-calling posts on this forum.

Until the last 10 days. Because then I came to realize how the system works.

A group of do-nothings, and know-nothings with a lot of time on their hands, a lot of venom, and a lot of mediocrity and silliness in their thinking and writing, sit there all day and hit those AR signs.

They take special glee in working those things in a frenzy and getting even Robin Linden, who surely has other things to do, to drop what she is doing and race in here to make sure that adults in an adult game don't see the word "fuck" or don't see somebody else calling someone a "douchbag" or accusing them of having "perimenopause."

Coco was absolutely right that the system works like TSO, that it responds to pile-ups of complaints, multiple complaints.

I actualyl thought forum mods watched the stuff, and when *they* saw something bad by their own impartial judgements, they AR'd something or took action on it.

I had no idea that the way the system works is that a gang of thugs and tattletale whining ninnies can keep going to harried and exasperated Lindens and screaming "foul" on the forums all the time, so that prosecution only happens to those whom they put in their target sites.

Coco was so right that what we should have done ages ago was AR the hell out of all those ninnies every time their asshats, FUCK YOUs, and RL disclosures, insults, etc. came on here.

Gosh, it took me the longest time to figure I should even press on Nolan and Cienna to warn the mods that they were up to their old tricks dislcosing RL information. I wasn't even sure how that little "alarm sign" on here worked, whether it delivered a clip of the thread or not.

Well, we're newbies. Live and learn!

So the system is imbalanced, unfair, driven by ninnies with time on their hands to do this -- so now I get it. I wasted time on it myself in the last few weeks thinking it was an important battle for hearts and minds.

Now I see it isn't.

What's the over/under on number of days until Random surpasses Prok's post count?

Hiro, I've pretty much given up. I'm just going to go back to being wise ass happy-go-lucky Flipper. Having a SERIOUS DISCUSSION in the General Forums is about as easy as comfortably swallowing a sperm whale.

Has anyone you reported "left and right" for abuses been banned? or even suspended?

Last I checked it was just you for constantly provoking people by skirting the ToS with your other account.

edit: nevermind, why am I bothering. Welcome to my ignore list AGAIN, random/prok. If you resurface with other alts, I'll just ignore them too. This is ridiculous.

I hope you all know, if you report non-stop, that can come back to bite you on the ass. There is a system in place for that.

Nah, I make sure all my reports are legit and only used when it's needed.

Most of my reports are "This thread is likely in the wrong forum, consider moving it to XYZ forum".

Don't sweat the small stuff...too many large, seriously fucked issues in RL.

Did I just imagine it? Or did an entire anti-you-know-who thread just go poof entirely? I wish it hadn't. That such anti-you-know-who threads get started ought to be part of the record.

It's kinda funny, really. We all sit around here on our lame butts all morning, even including all night before, and go at it, till the mods come in and start locking and poofing threads.

Kinda like "while the cat's away, the mice will play."

I agree, Coco. Perhaps the thread should be locked, but if it goes poof, how will the moderators know who is calling people fucking idiots and sick fucks?

On the upside, I give all due credit to the moderators here. They can tell the difference between disruptive behavior and the latest agenda you hold, Random/Prokovy.

Yes, I think the threads which this thread refers to have vanished, and I imagine so will a/some resident account(s)' access very soon.

I hope so, and I hope very much that an enforcing statement is made - and an update as to LL's policy on trolling, which seems to need bolstering.

That is the line you have to walk, definately. Make sure your (figurative "your" reports are valid, and you have no worries. If they aren't however, and you make a lot of them, it can bite your ass. It's kept track of, and taken into consideration during reporting "battles".

That said, I need a vacation from all this crap. All the threads started to induce drama, the pedantic holier-than-thou types who are bent on rebuking those on just one side of an issue, the mile long diatribes, the exaggeration, the lies, the posturing, the outright hypocrisy of those who constantly attack, the rumor mongering, all of it. See you all at a later date. This general forum has been reduced to a steaming pile of dog crap.

P.S. I still haven't reported anybody. Just can't bring myself to do it. Maybe I just don't believe in it, or maybe I'm just not a good citizen. I don't know. I'm the same way irl. Something would have to be really over the top - a life at stake, or something - for me to report someone irl.

And I would never neg rate anyone, no matter what. I USE that system, plenty - looking at someone's profile to see if they have gotten or given out a lot of neg rates, etc., just as I look to see their age, and other clues about them. But - I just would never neg rate anybody myself. I guess I figure if they're bad enough to need a neg rating, then they are already beneath my bothering to do it, or something like that. So while yes, I take advantage of what other people have done with that system, I doubt I could ever neg rate anyone myself.

Could be that could be seen as sort of hypocritical or something, but I accept that it is the way I am.

I've never reported a thread either. I'm too anti-censorship, or just apathetic, to do so. The only negs I have given in-world have been to active event griefers that were asked repeatedly to cease.

Oh for God's sake. Do you not understand that I have a great many friends? Prok is just one of them. No more, no less.

the forum got poofed while i was reading it, lol it was entirely an attack on the group of people WHO are known to troll and attack

it seems we have a ton of kettles and pots, all claiming not to be black.

in most threads it starts out as a persons legitament worries, no matter how unwarranted. then some very unhappy people feel its thier duty to make the poster feel like never comming back by slamming the mere idea of being unhappy with the current system.

I think these people start with good intentions (most of them) but quickly cercome to strong emotional outburst.

anyone with over 300 post should take a month long break take time to reflect and get their RL issues in order and come back when you can respond civilized.

with the few people who have NOTHING but negative to offer, LL should seriously consider revoking post rights.

I think anyone that worries about other peoples post counts (high or low) should take a long break. And anyone that worries about people worrying about other peoples post counts should also take a long break.
