The W-A by: The Ahern People
Young newb, there's no need to feel strife I said, young newb, port yourself to Second Life I said, young newb, put away the Seppeku knife There's no need to be frustrated
Young newb, just because you feel small I said, young newb, feeling yourself hit the wall From the lag spikes, don't you dare uninstall There's a place that you can get help
(Chorus 1) It's fun to stay at the W.A. It's fun to stay at the W.A. They have everything for young newbs to learn You can hang out in Morris or Ahern It's fun to stay at the W.A. It's fun to stay at the W.A. You can make some new friends, but you can't rez a sex bed You can drag a box on your head
Young newb, are you I.M.ing me? I said, young newb, what gender do you wanna be? I said, young newb, you can get some freebies But you've got to talk to Torley
F1 never seems to be used By a young newb, use F.A.Q. before Live Help And just go there to the W.A. I'm sure they can help you today
(Repeat chorus 1)
Young newb, I once wore default clothes I was devoid of decent wardrobe I felt no Linden cared if I were logged on But then someone proved me dead wrong
That's when a Linden gave me a hand And said, "Young newb, buy Five-Twelve of newb land You can find some at the W.A. There's notecard dispensors that-a-way"
(Chorus 2) It's fun to stay at the W.A. It's fun to stay at the W.A. They have everything for young newbs to learn You can hang out in Morris or Ahern W.A. It's fun to stay at the W.A. Young newb, Young newb, there's no need to feel strife Young newb, young newb, port yourself to Second Life
(Chorus 3) W.A. And just go to the W.A. Young newb, young newb, feeling yourself hit the wall Young newb, young newb, don't you dare uninstall W.A.

Brilliant!
I'd love to see a music video for this song. Anyone out there halfway decent at 1. ripping vocals out of mp3s and 2. singing?
*continues humming "young newb" the rest of the day*

From: Azazel Czukor I'd love to see a music video for this song. Anyone out there halfway decent at 1. ripping vocals out of mp3s and 2. singing? Ya know, it's a sad state of affairs when the yoof of today's idea of creating music is to remove the vocals from an mp3 to overdub their own. Azazel, have you ever considered a novel yet somewhat antiquated alternative to ripping mp3s: playing instruments?!

Azazel, have you ever considered a novel yet somewhat antiquated alternative to ripping mp3s: playing instruments?! Yes, yes Kris, I have. I'm married to a musician. Plays bass, guitar and drums. Astounding. As opposed to finding a group of people that play the applicable instruments (hell, it could even be faked on a keyboard), record it, and then work the vocals on top, its faster and easier to rip the vocals from the pre-existing track and then have someone warble over it. But hey, if any musicians out there want to go nuts and redo the entire track from scratch, knock yourselves out. BTW, I'm almost 30.

I wuz kidding. But 30 still makes you a yoof But yeah - all you really need to do is run the midi thru a decent keyboard or soundcard, assign some better instruments and record it to the pc. If I feel so inclined I might even do it at the weekend and upload it for someone else to do the vocals I have some nice fat sounds on my Yamaha W7 that are just right for it. (I am a singer, but I'm bloody well not singing that for you lot. )

From: Kris Ritter I wuz kidding. But 30 still makes you a yoof Thank god someone out there still thinks 30 is yoof-full - my husband doesn't think so since he hit it I'd sing, but it would be classified as the so-awful-they-must-be-joking quality. Tone deaf, meet pitchless. Pitchless, meet tone-deaf.

LOL! Very cute! I didn't wear a box on my head, though. I wore a motorcycle on my head. For a fair amount of time, too, lol. It made me quite cranky about the game, until somebody told me what to do about it.

Hahaha... too funny, dig the riff, Hiro.
Now, THIS should be one of those loops that gets played in the WA -- although technically, it couldn't be a loop if it were to cover all those verses!

now that this was bumped back up again.. will it remain fresh in SLer memories? will it play over and over in our heads?
will everyone be singing a drunken version of this at the LL invasion? (or rather, the bar/s afterwards.. lol)
...young newb *whistling as i head to bed*
and thanks for ending my night (er.. morning) with this hilarious rendition!
