Is anybody else having troubles with PayPal tonight? I have wasted over an hour and a half tonight trying to use PayPal through IGE. Keep getting error messages. Just wondering if this is normal (I am not a regular PayPal user).

We at GOM haven't had any problems at all with our PayPal notifications tonight. I can confirm that they have been a little flaky in the past couple of days, though.

Yes, I've noticed this too with PayPal... some 3004 errors and telling you your password is incorrect, when it's in fact CORRECT.
Hopefully this will be dealt with soon._____________________

Getting errors with PayPal as well :/ Although it's not "incorrect password" ones, it just gives me error 3004, and that it was "unable to complete my request". Feh.

Just an update ... PayPal started working again around 1:00 AM EST. So I was able to make my $L purchase through IGE and got the money in-game within minutes. Went on my first SL shopping spree, revisiting all the cools shops I had landmarked. Fun.

Have you been in touch with PP regarding this? Have you checked out alternative methods, such as YowCow.com (the favored service by nopaypal.com) which supports an IPN using the exact same format as paypal, and states you can use the same scripts? I would love to see some support for YowCow at GOM if possible. _____________________

I thought GOM already allowed for YowCow payments.... We do support YowCow. We haven't hooked them into our IPN system yet though, so YowCow (and e-gold, which we also accept) deposits are handled manually. Incidentally, PayPal's IPN system has also been acting up lately, which is why your GOM deposits have sometimes been showing up a little late (based on our current PayPal transaction history, the IPN appears to be 45 minutes to 1 hour behind). Does anyone have any solid information about what's been going on with PayPal lately? I should really call their CS line, but if someone else has already done the legwork... ![]() _____________________

I can't get the site either - and it couldn't have happened at a worse time. I was halfway through reactivating my account with them when it packed in.
I would use YowCow to purchase some $L, which I am desperate to do, but it seems that I would have to print out a form, fill it in, sign it, and then fax it to them in the US. And then it would take four days to process. I am too lazy and impatient for all that. |

It was very annoying for paypal to be so messed up, but not much you can do about it.. just wait it out.
As for incorrect payments for it, I accidentally got paid twice by the same person for the same item because of the 3004 message appearing somewhere during the buyer's payment. (ofcourse I returned it) _____________________
