Why, Philip, that jumpsuit is simply smashing: Philip Rosedale wants to be Uma Thurman. That is, the Linden Lab chief executive says he'll pay anyone $10 for an animation that turns his character in the Internet game ``Second Life'' into Thurman's samurai-wielding character from the film ``Kill Bill.''

``Second Life'' is Linden Lab's online game that allows players to build their own homes in a virtual world. Now the San Francisco-based company will enable Second Life players to insert their own custom animations into the game.

Players can use commercial tools to create the animations. They can then stage their own dramas or even sell the animations to other players for a profit. This builds on the tools already available for players to craft their own characters and animations. So far, there are 30,000 objects for sale in ``Second Life,'' which has 10,000 paying subscribers. Rosedale expects a host of new animations will be introduced.

We can't wait to see Rosedale in Thurman's yellow jumpsuit.
