Does anyone have an idea how many people are in SL now? I heard 17,000 had signed up but I'm pretty sure that's a low and old number.

So in 10 years the population of SL will be 85,726,144,092,069 or therabouts (if we can sustain this growth rate that long, which seems like it should be pretty easy.) Of course, some of them are alts.

We're supposed to be past a million in three years. Won't that be something!

And everyone of them, except for one, will be members of the FIC.

Oops... wrong thread... My bad.

Also, check out Ezhar Fairlight's Second Life User Data page.

From: Ezhar Fairlight's page

I'm not sure how much geographic coverage Ezhar's system has when detecting unique avs.

He's fallen behind. I think Adam Zaius has a better coverage model.

Negative. Adam keeps his numbers close to his secret arsenal of deadly ninja weaponry, or something. :)

I dunno his exact figures, sadly.

I've been curous about this as well. I wonder how many active users we have in SL. By active, I mean the total minus alt accounts and deadbeat lifetime accounts.

I'm curious if the leaderboards are a good source for the total number? My lowest ranking is somewhere around 4900 I believe. If everyone checks their lowest ranking, maybe we can figure how many people Linden counts for the purpose of leaderboards. Hmm, do non-premium accounts appear on the leaderboards? If not, then screw my method.

Yes they do.

Unfortunately I can only get 3 figures to display on one of them. My change in high score is 0, which makes me joint bottom with 305...
