Having become a regular user of SLPics (I'm addicted), I've grown to enjoy the random window it provides on SL and its citizens. Reloading often, I've found that it's a wonderful way to explore parts of SL that I would otherwise never get to see, due to my busy in-world schedule.

My favorite picture poster is Torley Torgeson, who manages to visit and photograph fascinating people, sites, and events from every corner of SL. Inspired by Torley's series of posts, I decided to experiment with using SLPics as a photoblog. By taking images, providing detailed captions, and collecting them in an album, I think an SLPics photoblog works! (Special thanks to Cristiano who modified the SLPics code to support HTML for my photoblog experiment.)

How do you use SLPics? Are there other second-party websites that have had an impact on you? I hear SLBlogger is fun. Has anyone tried that?

I know. It's so hard to make a post about concerning contributions made by second parties. We can discuss and thank the Lindens but the contributions of folks like Cristiano and Torley can't be brought up without questioning the poster's original intent. Is it favoritism? Is it an advertisement?

In this case, it's a legitimate appreciation for a medium (SLPics.com) that I am growing to enjoy as much as the forums and a poster (Torley) whose images I always look forward to. My contribution is to try and merge some of the deep conversation I do in the forums with this new pictorial medium in the form of a photoblog. It's fun. Try it!

I burn for Firechick. ;)

Ah, come on Ju, Ulrika is just trying to insinuate herself into FIC!

However, she could have at least done what the rest of us did and created an ALT for that purpose.

i agree about slpics - i use the snapz regularly and also check out my friends snapz too. i think snapz is one of the best things anyone non linden has ever done for sl.

Let's not forget about the professional-looking SLBlogger, which is supported by our friends over at SecondServer.net, a close cousin to the wonderful SLBoutique.com. ;)

(Although we're having fun, I think I've just named every one of my favorite online second-party SL service providers. Thanks to you all!) :D

I added two new pictures to SLPics' first photoblog. The newly added support for HTML works like a charm.

One problem I've run into is that SL limits the amount of text that can be emailed with a snapshot (bug fix?). To get around it, I send what I can and then edit the photo description on SLPics after it arrives (an account is needed).

In addition to Torley, I have found Lash Xevious to be a fun image poster as well!
