Just wondering if anyone here plays Xbox? Currently buying used games and playing my Xbox alot. I used to be part of this world, a Beta person named Neo Valen but quit due to the constant changes. Just having the thought of using RL money or even Linden money to be able to make things in this program to me is communist. So now I mostly play Xbox games and sometimes computer games. I only came back to see how big the world got and what has changed. Alot of changes but I'm here for just a brief visit. Hello to all I knew if there's any still around.

Heya ![]() I do have an X-Box but rarely play it anymore. Which...I actually should because I think there are 7 or 8 games waiting on the hard drive to be played. (No, I'm not confused...I know what I said. lol) It doesn't cost RL or Linden money to be able to make things in world anymore, the per prim tax is gone. Although if you are willing to buy computer games and Xbox games I'm not sure why the reluctance to pay for entertainment in SL. The cost of just one game on those platforms can go a pretty long way in SL. (Not nit picking seriously, just saying.)I didn't know you before, but welcome back...hope you enjoy your brief visit. I like the name as well by the way. I have that game on my Gamefly list...should be here any day. ![]() -Sun (multi platform gaming addict) |

I play it every once in awhile when a game comes out that looks interesting and won't be out for the PC.

I kicked Max Case's butt.
But then he went and shot me down numerous times. I have been humbled. |

i had pretty much dropped down to playing Burnout 3 and some of the classic anthologies, but now that's in the past.. especially playing Morrowind.
i bought my Xbox the morning it was released.. and a few weeks ago it was stolen right out of my house along with two games.. and one controller. not sure what they were thinking.. i mean, they didn't take anything else! weird.. but either way, it's gone. a friend brings his over sometimes and we play Burnout 3, Soul Caliber and a couple others.. but i've pretty much given up on it until i can get a 360. ![]() _____________________

Ya I have Xbox and I was really in to playing when the wife was working evenings. Then I gave it up because we only have 2 TVs one for our girls and one in the living room. Now that I just got on to EQ2 I don’t see me going back to Xbox for a long time.

I have an Xbox and play it frequently. So far my favorite Xbox games have been Halo 2, Gladius, and Chronicles of Riddick. Right now I'm playing Destroy All Humans.

So, do we have enough SL'ers to get a game of Halo2 together? Or Burnout 3. I think that could be fun. Unfortunately, while I love SL, it doesnt exactly excel at the ummm... fast paced games (at least not on my machine)
![]() And while I love Xbox Live, it doesn't exactly excel at ummmm... people. |

I just got Destroy All Humans, but haven't played it yet. How can anyone do that?! You play a game the SECOND you get it home! No exceptions.. Don't mean to hijack the thread but, HalfLife 2 anyone? _____________________

I just got Destroy All Humans, but haven't played it yet. It's not exceptional but I'm glad I picked it up. It's very funny and you get a lot of freedom to go on a rampage blowing things up. It's very therapuetic, hehe. Picking up things with the abducto beam while in saucer mode and flinging them around is way too much fun. _____________________

I haven't played Destroy All Humans yet.
So do I get rid of my Xbox games before 360 comes out? Or did they determine whether it would be backward compatible or not? |

re: backward compatibility

yes.. kind of.
i read that the 360 will play.. some.. old Xbox games. they didn't specify fruther, but i'm wondering if it will be limited to Live enabled games. or maybe they changed something about the format of discs somewhere along the way and only games from that point on? not sure.. but there's your answer: some. _____________________

Could be just the Live enabled ones, like you said. Because all games for the Xbox 360 will be Live enabled from what I've read. |

No, I don't play it immediately, because I have to turn the TV and Xbox on first. Seriously, I had gotten it a few minutes before I posted here. It was delivered to where I live. I still play Half Life 2 every once in awhile. |

I only paid fifty bucks for an entire YEAR of gameplay. Hundreds of hours of Halo 2, man. That's what we call a bargain, especially when you break that down by movie admissions (10 bucks per two hours times five movies is a paltry 50 bucks for ten hours, as opposed to fifty bucks per hundreds of hours.) _____________________

Hmmm, I thought it was more expensive than that. The other problem is that my Xbox is four floors away from my network hub. I'd set up a wireless network but I don't want to spend the money and find out it doesn't work. ![]() _____________________

But I gotta tell you, Halo 2 is the Xbox Live killer app. You even got a free trial scratch-off card in the box. They've done multi-player team-based FPSing very, very well via Xbox Live. I think the last time I dedicated as much energy to playing CTF, it was when I first got Quake 2 and discovered you could play online -- which got me hooked ever after on online gaming. Halo 2 has gotten the nuts and bolts of finding and joining multiplayer games down to a very slick art, at this point. You can fire up your Xbox and be playing a game within two minutes, and I've never gotten that quick of a multiplayer fix so consistently in my life. Granted, though, there are a bunch of stupid people on Live. _____________________
