I spent some time looking aound this morning for land I wanted to buy. I must have imed at least 7 ppl that they have items in strange places. Telling them they may want to come get them. There is even a cabin underground near the linden arena, I think it was in clara.
When tomorrow comes. Will all the items littering the land degrade if the owers do not sign up even if they are on owned land and not buy the objects owner? How do we get rid of the prims that are scattered about like a sim blew up? I have some ones pirm sticking to the side of my building in Natoma.I cna't move it or delete it. What if they don't sign up, will i have this for ever?
I had some land in Stillman that I had a cabin on and some furniture in it. The first cabin disappeard, put out another. I think some one did some land editing cause it looked like an earth quake hit. Needless to say that cabin disappeared. My items were all there.
What can we do to clean up? I an sure, though small all these things laying about take up server resorses, and the unaware owners are being taxed on items they may not know are missing

Its kind of you to try and IM the owner(s). Lindens can delete this one.

Anyone who doesnt sign up the items will go public when the Lindens delete the account ('m not sure if the timing will follow the usually timing or not. It may be more abrupt (?).

If someone else creates objects on land that is not theirs, the owner of said land can delete it. If you can't, file a bug report.

Sounds like it was not on your land completely and went public. Go to view and check land owners to see your land better for better placement.

As far as general cleanup, items go public in 3 days if on public land at which point they can be "cleaned up" by anyone.

something to ponder

Well I just thought I'd let this tidbit in, since the dev team doesen;t seem to listen when I file a bug report. I can buy a bunch of land, and put items on it however I like. Then if I so choose to I can sell that land back. Hmm what's the point? Well the items on the now public land don't have any decay on them. Try it for yourself and you'll see what I mean, just remember to release the land after you have placed objects and not before, or it won't work. Sure you can be the next buyer of the land and delete the objects, but you can also see someone being a pest to someone they may not like who can;t claim that land to delete those objects.

Thanks for responding Misnomer. Yup the land was all mine.Plus if it were public not just the cabin would have disappeared. Most of the things I made note of in my thread were Not on public land, and you can tell these items were not part of anything. There for example was 2 records by 1 person a colorful ball from a 2nd and a anim doll from a 3rd all kind haning in the trees near some water. LIke I said most of these things look like the were from a sim explosion or dropped from roos space ship. Items on my land I have deleted before.

What Im saying is if your cabin were hanging off the edge of your property (which I see a lot of) then if enough of it was hanging over then it can go public even if part of it were on your land. Its a common mistake. Stuff inside the cabin that is still on your land would remain, safe.
