It's killing me. Iv had the beta version since December and I still cant play it. I should have probably just biten the bullet a while ago and upgraded my Video Card but im too cheep. Im afraid that Beta testing will be over very shortly after they get support for the ATI 7500 and simmilar. How much time is left to play?

To anybody waiting out the beta thinking they'll get better support after the game goes live.
Oh, so you want to play the game and be horribly disappointed because your hardware isn't up to date?
Seriously, bite the bullet, get better hardware. Nowadays you can't expect a 3 year old video card to get you through brand new games.

From: someone Originally posted by Dave Zeeman Seriously, bite the bullet, get better hardware. Nowadays you can't expect a 3 year old video card to get you through brand new games. Heh, so far you guys seem pretty lucky over here. Wait until this game goes live. Ahh...I remember it like it was yesterday... [cue flashback] The screaming and crying over not being able to play WW2OL with a 3 year old box, crappy OEM ATI (the old ones) graphics card, and 128 megs of RAM was really bad. It can be kinda tough to convince people of what you just said...that you cant expect a 3 year old OEM Compaq to run the game unless you are a master computer tuner. Even then its tough. We lost a few players because they couldnt understand this. They'd try the game and either crash a lot on thier RAM or the framerates were so bad it was impossible to play. Naturally, they blame the game every time and it turns them off. So take what Dave said serously. Dont even try to play the game on a substandard box unless you are completely aware that the reason it wont run well is your substandard box. This is a good game and you owe it you yourself to try it out under decent circumstances. (woot! no cirbody fluidstances!!) Avondell

What was funny about early wwii online days was that some low end machines had as much success as th high end ones.

The game runs fine. I have no slowdown except the accasional lag which is to be expected and it only ever crashed once. The only problem I have is that the terrain dosen't wana stay terrain. It shoots high into the sky. It's like having a wall that stretches to the sky in a radial pattern. It's not that my machine cant pull it its an incombatability issue witht he Catalyst driver, SL, and my card. I ran Unreal II fine (admited it was at average settings but it ran smooth none the less). If I can run Unreal II with average setings im preety sure I can run SL.

yeah sounds like a driver issue. have you tried newer drivers, or if so, have you tried rolling back to older drivers? if that still doesn't do the trick, then you'll just have to sit tight. right now LL seems to be focusing on nVidia card support, but once they've got those issues done, i'm sure they'll turn their attention to ATi.
