~Feted Inner...Who really cares?~

Am I the only one who is getting tired of hearing about this FIC crap? I really could care less about some sort of so called elite group that supposedly gets preferred treatment over others and pictures of them posted on advertisements on the SL Homepage. Who cares? There is going to be these types of cliques everywhere you go...at school, work, etc. Why is there a constant need to bring it up?

I see people continuously complaining about the supposed FIC by starting multiple threads or bringing it up in numerous posts. It seems people are drawn to this topic like a buzzard looking for a carcass. This is the same crap that happened in school while growing up...the popular people or the football players get preferred treatment because of who they are. It's pretty ironic because constantly talking and complaining about them just gives them a bigger head.

I see people as people...I don't care if you are 'unpopular' or 'popular', but I don't associate with people who are stuck up because that is my choice. I do not think I am superior to anyone else and I don't want anyone acting like they are superior to me. I could care less if you own 20 sims or are the most popular fashion designer in SL or if you are a newbie. The way I see it, everyone is equal until something happens to change my view.

It's been an ongoing exercise in the obvious ever since it started. There's no conspiracy. There are, however, loose networks or associations of people who may get special treatment from time to time. In some cases, they've deserved it. In other cases, they haven't.

What's different from RL? Nothing.

Actually, the conspiracy exists on the other side: those who have mutually decided that a conspiracy exists and that something should be done about it. It might be a conspiracy of two...or three or four... but it's a conspiracy.

Back in the days when the questions being raised sounded interesting, I tried to balance the debate a little by offering some reasons why the concept of an SL elite should be explored. But now it's become an empty, dramatic, entertaining ritual - for those who bring it up, and for those who immediately respond to it at such lengths.

You should bring that discussion to the polisci forum. I'd certainly nurse an intelligent discussion on the subject. If it's in the General forum though, expect no more than what you see now.

I'm starting to think no one should talk to anyone. No one should refer to anyone and no one should look at anyone. We should all have little hampster bubbles and just roll around in them. It would be safer and no one could complain.

Sorry, I probably shouldn't hit submit reply but all of this unneccessary complaining is getting to me.

I really don't think anyone cares.

It's just a bunch of envious no talent people who want to have a reason to put the hate on some of the most important contributors in SL.

I think the best suggestion would be that people quit bringing up this stupid ass FIC bull...but yes rolling around in a hamster ball could be fun too.

Personally the dozens of threads are irritating.... I check the 'New Posts' and now 90% of them are the same FIC thread rehashed.

It's as bad as Tringo inworld.

Ya I just saw all of them, there were 3 threads showing when I made this thread...which is why I made it...now the FIC thread making is out of control like a drunk whore at a male prison.

And who would design and market these bubbles, hmmm? The FIC? Hmmm? HMMMMMM???!!!

as much as i've refrained from ever posting in any FIC related thread.. i did want to say a couple things here.

1 - i remember a hamster wheel somewhere from last year sometime!

2 - i've walked around in a bubble.. but not a hamster bubble, as a matter of fact it was in the mountainous regions of the snow sims. and yes, it is fun!

3 - the plan is working. flood the forums with FIC threads and eventually EVERYONE will get fed up to the point where we'll leave it in the past and wonder why we didn't carry on this long about the Mole People. (Heck, if i remember correctly, Grimmy didn't even get this much attention! he was just before my time though.. i think)

4 - i agree. who cares. FIC was never a real group, but became one because of people constantly talking about it.. it's a joke. the whole thing. so, sit back and just chuckle about the inanity of it all. (i think maybe we need to see a resurrection of the Cannabis Cathedral!)
