The title of this thread is extremely misleading. Don't bash China.

How exactly does this get enforced? I suppose I can see this happening in online games that are strictly Chinese, but do international games like WoW, EQ, and FFXI need to convert to the "over 3 hour penalty phase"?
And if they do, do you think the millions of gamer geeks screaming at once will push the greenhouse gases over the threshold? ![]() _____________________

The title of this thread is extremely misleading. Don't bash China. i am not "bashing" china, but this story is about china and a 3 hour limit on SL would make it somewhat pointless I have been at events that last 3 hours _____________________

It's not gonna influence WoW crap and the like unless a game's target market is China specifically or maybe Asia. I suppose it could kick off a trend of some kind but I don't see it very likely
Maybe it's good news--if China's government keeps this kind of thing up, it's only a matter of time until they go the way of the Soviet Union. The only bad side is that the current government is genuinely pretty good at controlling population growth from what I've heard. _____________________
BTW
WTF is C3PO supposed to be USEFUL for anyway, besides whining? Stupid piece of scrap metal would be more useful recycled as a toaster. But even that would suck, because who would want to listen to a whining wussy toaster? Is he gold plated? If that's the case he should just be melted down into gold ingots. Help the economy some, and stop being so damn useless you stupid bucket of bolts! R2 is 1,000 times more useful than your tin man ass, and he's shaped like a salt and pepper shaker FFS! |

Well there is a good point in all of this,
Unless you can control your own online gameing habbit, gameing habbit in particular you will suffer the consequences, Late last week I was visiting with my Cousin and her 15-16 year old son when she was showing me renavations around the house we found her son passed out in front of his computer moniter, he had been up 3 days and nights in a row playing a game he had got for his birthday, he did shower and continue his daily routine but that scared the hell out of me, Now I'm not for banning every single online game ever made, its up to people to smartin up and learn that its a game, as much as you would like to use the fact that its 'Addictive' as an exuse, to quote my late grandfather "Exuses will get you nowhere, 'sorry' 'I'll never do it again' and 'I didn't know what I was thinking' are just words, its what you do that makes a diffirence," It just goes to show, As much as the Computer is an escape, a base of knowlage, and entertainment, nothing can replace the real world, go out and live it while you can, I know I should O.o;; _____________________

People of China: this is an excellent time to subscribe to multiple titles. Show the corrupt Mandarins in the buracracy that they cannot dictate your lives to you! When their warnings pop up, switch games and continue playing! Defy authority! Show the old men what a real cultural revolution looks like! Help them get over their addiction to totalitarianism!
Power to the people, right on! This message brought to you by Aging Hippies Against Pseudo-Socialism (AHAPS). _____________________
